  1. Yes, it's mot time, and it's failed on the back brakes, handbrake, excessive travel, and brakes not operating evenly. I did put new shoes in some 18 months ago at the time the handbrake cable in the drum was sticking, freed off, and lubricated with probably a good squirt of WD-40. Does this sound like more of the same probs? I can't see the shoes having been worn down. Any thoughts or advice before i take the plunge on Monday and inspect the brakes oh its a 1,2 htp 2012 Fabia by the way
  2. had a bit of a washer wipe prob, thought it was the stalk, turned out some corrosion in the fuze box got the auto electrician to look at it. However in doing so we now have an airbag light on I assume we have done something to the wiring, and it's mot day tommorow we have a good fault reader snap-on at work, should that be able to clear the code any advise would be appreciate the car is a 2004 fabia htpe
  3. more dumb newbie questions got the engine in and running and worked out where the pipes etc go on the inlet side thanks for that one but time be dammed if I can work out where the horn fits and the correct routing of the wires to the alternator and sensors on the exhaust manifold if anyone has a picture or 2 I would be eternally grateful skoda fabia mk2 1.2 12v
  4. Including results for purge valve 1.2 12 Skoda fabia location. Do you want results only for purge vlve 1.2 12 skoda fabia location? Between the vent line and the throttle This is located between the vent line and the throttle. The EVAP purge valve is located next to the coolant expansion tank, disconnect the plug and test for continuity, if the valve is open circuit then you need a new one, if not there may still be a wiring fault to the valve. Thanks Guys!! does that look like where one side connects
  5. so it connects to the manifold think I have found the eleti are all connecters different in the engine bay I have found one above the inlet manifold that it fits
  6. the pipe on the right is from the expansion tank still not worked out the other one although it fits a connection above the intake manifold
  7. panic over the bolts are offset so you can align them
  8. Fabia 1.2 12v do I have to time the flywheel on refitting looking on yt it looks like no but I am not totally sure
  9. well its ready for dropping just a cpl of questions 1 Is there a throttle cable I have the injectors and the inlet manifold too but am I missing a cable or am I fly by wire number 2 just how do I get the fan off the radiator I've twisted the 3 8mm skrews nothing moves told you they were dumb newbie questions be kind with me time new
  10. I'm looking on eBay for a replacement engine for a 1,2 3-cyl engine code CGPA. How specific do I have to be? I've seen some cgpb engines are they the same block? It's just a different ECU etc and mine will bolt on.Or is it a case if it looks the like same block they are all the same block any help would be gratefully accepted or if anyone knows who has a good engine in the sunny northwest let me know
  11. did a compression test, and the gauge showed nothing on all cylinders but released pressure audibly by depressing the button on cylinders 2 and 3 but not cylinder 1 the gauge is a cheap one and has been in the button of a toolbox for years, and is more than likely broken I have a good spark to number 1 cylinder at least the plug gaps look a little wide the colour was brown and damp I even tried a dose of easy start but there was no attempt for the engine to start looks to me I have damage to the valves time for a replacement engine me thinks time for a new motor
  12. thats the thing to do. I will dig out my tester y
