Independent VAG/Skoda specialist? (Bristol area)
Just been quoted £395 all in by VAG centre Bristol. In conversation he mentioned they check water pump (not part of cambelt change) as can be prone to leaking, and that's expensive at around £400. Ouch

Apparently don't need water pump as not on same belt hence part of the reason for the question? I am trying to ascertain from experience of users if one make of belt is better (longevity) than another. Regards

Fabulous, just the sort of info I was after. I will be using an Indy garage in the Bristol area. Just have not decided which one yet. Always good to have a little knowledge before hand.

Head units
Hi, Many thanks for that. It's second car, and only had it a day and then my sons car had to go in for work so he has had it for last two weeks. I will check out Android auto when I get it back at the weekend. If not enabled is it definitively a dealer enable. Regarding Kenwood, not sure which model will fit. Any that gives garmin would be good as long as not too ridiculous price wise. According to the seller on ebay the one I saw won't fit due to not having "Media System", but not sure what that is or if he is correct. Any advice or info appreciated.

I get that but from this forum that could be made by any of several manufacturers.

Best Cambelt make
Hi, Having only recently purchased a 16 plate 1.2 TSI SE (18,000 miles) and on reading here that it is due a Cambelt change at 5 years, I wonder which make of cambelt is said to be the best. My understanding is that the materials vary make to make. Thanks

Head units
Hi, I know there has been a various amount of discussion on here regarding different head units to give nav and dab, but I am confused as to the physical difference in the units between pre 2015 and post 2015. A lot of units say compatible 2009-2015. Is there a significant difference? I am interested in a Kenwood upgrade to the info system as it uses Garmin which I am very familiar with. But I am confused with a reply I got from a seller on ebay after sending the attached picture to them. "Unfortunately if this is the Original Unit in the Car it is NOT Compatiable as you need to have "Media System" in the Car so this one's not correct and we don't have any other options for you." Anyone know what "Media System" is? Thanks
