  1. Hi @blackdahliasam I have a similar issue with a dribble just from both front windscreen jets and the jets look identical to yours The headlamp washers have stopped working altogether and the motor/pump sounds horribly loud when i pull the right stick for the front wipers The rear windscreen water works perfectly Hence, i'm thinking the pump/motor for the front washers is knackered Did you manage to resolve your issue and if so, what was it for you please ?
  2. I just noticed that OAA2 download was available so i'm installing that to see if it makes any difference additionally, i've spoken to the dealer who is going to speak with their "master technician" to see if they are aware and then advise on the next steps
  3. @varooom - so do you think its the battery monitoring control unit that needs replacing then and the gateway control unit ? If so, then my question is why all of a sudden this has happened ? Could it be due to the cold weather over the last few days ? (-4 where i am) ? If so, then not a great advert for a car that originates in the Czech Republic ! I fear that as soon as i get through to the service department, i'll be met with "Oooo, i've never heard of that fault before !" 😫
  4. thanks for the replies so i received the fatal "double pop" 12 months ago which killed the sat nav and the SOS, and needed a new head unit once finally diagnosed (took 3 trips to the dealership to resolve) it had the battery 93O5 which was completed in November last year after much wrangling unfortunately whilst doing the 93O5, the dealership rendered my sat nav useless so another drop off was needed to resolve the config during this latest visit (mid Jan 2023), the latest and greatest software updates were applied by the dealership a couple of weeks ago, i recall seeing further over the air software updates and these were applied weeks ago the error only happened yesterday and so was the first time i'd seen it
  5. So the latest in a catalog of issues since i've had this Octavie PHEV estate is the following message in the centre console and where the speedo is : "Engine needs to run for longer" along with a graphic of a car with an exclamation mark The message pops up for around 6 or so seconds before it disappears for about 25 secs before it then returns, and so the pattern goes on and on and on.....etc I've been on a 40 mile trip, vehicle left for 2.5 hours before a return 40 mile trip and the above error occurred on both journeys Part of the outward trip was on electric but then the rest on petrol, but obviously alternating to electric when it could I only had 35 miles left in the tank so have now filled up Has anyone else experienced the above please and know what the issue and fix is ? I'm really hoping that this is not ANOTHER trip to the garage.....they've had the car more days than i have and frankly, its becoming ridiculous !!!!!!!! TIA
  6. @J.R. well I reserve the right to beg to differ re the Octavia trop Bon…… no idea what or who that refers too and re me taking a courtesy car, how else do you propose I travel those 24 miles there and back ? I think it’s the least Skoda should provide considering the vehicle in question that’s in the garage in for the 6th time in 12 months and this issue was caused by themselves whilst fixing another issue and clearly not testing it before delivering it back and it’s still under warranty ! you may be happy with that level of service but I can assure you I’m not and no one else should for a £37k PHEV !
  7. @J.R.thanks for the reply not sure if you read my original post but this car is purely a courtesy car to get me home today which it has and then back to the dealership when my Octavia is fixed and that’s it i have no intention to put more fuel in the tank than necessary to then hand over to Skoda gratis after all, my car is in their garage to fix an issue caused by themselves when my car was in for a safety recall and they proceeded to break something else as a result…remarkable really ! ive had plenty of cars from fords, BMWs, Audi and most recently an Octavia and I can say 100% that if I had put £10 of petrol in any of those then the fuel gauge would move and it wouldn’t leave me concerned that I had zero miles left and likely to breakdown at some point
  8. @toot thanks for the reply it’s a 1lt petrol nope adding the first and second £5’s worth neither caused the gauge to move 1 jot ! I’ve just been out and rocked the car left to right and bounced the boot to see if it’s a manual gauge if it would jog it free It’s done nothing ! So either this is the most uneconomical car on the planet or it has a leaking fuel tank !!! in answer to your first question, a Skoda dealership in the west mids !
  9. Just picked up a brand new '72 plate Fabia as a courtesy car whilst my Octavia PHEV has its sat nav fixed for the 2nd time Car only has 750 miles on the clock Distance range showed 15 miles possible and physical fuel gauge right at the bottom of the red zone Left forecourt and then almost immediately it dropped to 10 mile range so i stuck £5 of fuel in to get me home Approx 8 or so miles down the road, gauge has dropped further and range now down to 5 miles possible left so worried i wont get home, stuck a further £5 in So my journey door to door was only just over 12 miles and the range is now showing 0 miles of range and the manual fuel gauge is right at the very bottom !!! £10 for 12 miles.....REALLY ?????? Any ideas guys/gals whether this is yet another known fault and how i can reset so i can have some degree of assurance of not breaking down when i return the vehicle ? This brand is really a tough sell
  10. …that’s if your car hasn’t burst into flames before then !
  11. roottoot.....unfortunately you wont be able to unless you local dealership is either Southgate (North London) or Cambridge I've been told that they are the only 2 garages who can do the 93O5 fix ! what a joke
  12. So i've just received the same letter via Leaseplan namely, my vehicle is subject to recall 93O5 Speaking to a nice girl in the local Skoda garage in West Midlands, its not a job that can be done by any local dealership, it has to go to 1 of 2 (yep you read that right !), only 1 of 2 facilities in the UK, either Southgate (North London) or Cambridge !!!!!!!!! WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤯🤯🤯 So my car has just been booked in for the next available slot.........January 2023 !!!!!!!! What an absolute shambles of a company Rather than train the local garages they do nothing and just sit customers in a massive queue and sitting on a potential risk to what could be life threatening by the sounds of it for anyone inside the car !!!! To : Mr Andrew Ganney (Skoda UK Aftersales).......i trust you don't drive your own Skoda "tat" ????
  13. question for anyone with a similar Octavia mk IV........... when your car is locked, does the little green light in headlining / centre, by the sunglass holder and SOS system light, does it remain lit ? looks like my SOS system has died AGAIN whilst taking the car on a test drive, but now i'm home and the car is parked and locked, the little green light next to it is still illuminated can anyone confirm please ?
  14. yep, absolutely...its a 21 plate octavia PHEV estate The car was in the garage 3 times in January 2022 as the SOS system died numerous times and the sat nav too resulting in new head unit (i think) at the cost of £1200 to the dealership being needed i assume it would've had its software updated to the latest and greatest at the same time too as typically, that's the approach when they cant get to the bottom of things....bang a load of software/firmware on and hope the issue goes away the Skoda factory were logged in remotely to it also so i assume that they would've mandated that first of all it didn't fix it hence, £1200 part required 😀 the car has been fine since hence, something else has drained it or the battery is naff its working again now so i'll wait for the next issue and if it happens again, its defo going in is it just me that doesn't understand why on a car that has a big battery, why if the 12v is getting low on power, why it doesn't take some juice from the big battery, i mean, the 12v battery dies and renders the car dead, whereas the hybrid battery dies, you just run on unleaded...............or am i missing something ?
  15. confirmed as a flat 12v battery but the question outstanding is what caused it to drain ? i guess the battery is either on the way out (its a 21 plate so i hope not) or something drained it i was planning to get it towed to Skoda as it wasn't driveable (its working fine now) to run diagnostics but past experience tells me that will be futile so i'll sit tight and wait for the next issue as at least i know the symptom now !
