Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Burtus replied to nopowerman's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Yes, never change a working system but I hope there are updates since 2016 that improve a few things. I can only see one issue: if the windows are open when I stop the engine, I have to start the engine to be able to close the windows again. There might be also other improvements that only a trained eye could see, that improve things without me, a noob to notice. -

Where can we see the differences between different firmware versions? And how should I ask for a firmware upgrade at a skoda service, do they even do it for a 7 years old car? -

How to close the electric windows when the engine is off?
Burtus replied to Burtus's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Fabia mk3 2016. The controls stop working as soon as the ignition is off. -
How to close the electric windows when the engine is off?
Burtus replied to Burtus's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
You come to the garage, stop the engine, open the door, the inner lights are ON but forgot one window open, cannot close it. Yes, you need to press "start' again without starting the engine. In my opinion, as long as the inner lights can be switched on without the ignition, the windows should also respond to the open/close button. But, as stated in the user manual, this is a feature/limitation, not a bug -

How to close the electric windows when the engine is off?
Burtus replied to Burtus's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
4 electric windows on fabia mk3 2016. The windows only work after pressing the start button. The engine does not have to be ON. Bad use case: you drive, you arrive in the garage and stop the car but forgot one window open. To be able to close the window the car needs to be started again. Lon press on the remote does not work either. Is it the same for all? Maybe fixed by a software updated? -
The upsetting noise I get comes through the front left door and most of it is from the tires. The car, Fabia MK33 1.2 TSI 81, is 5 years old, maybe I should replace the door seal (part no.: 6V0 867 365 J 5AP) ? Would it be enough ? Maybe a 2nd sealing rubber like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000785523373.html ? Would it even fit? The summer tires are 215 45 R16 86H Dunlop sport max which I have to replace for the next summer.

I think it is 6V0 867 365 J 5AP and 6V0 867 366 J 5AP but are there better ones than the original ones? I would like to reduce the noise from outside at high speeds. Until which speed is the noise ok in your car?

Best Reverse driving camera for Skoda Fabia MK III
Burtus replied to Burtus's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Hi Friends, Since I did not buy the camera yet and I studied a bit the market I would like to ask for your recommendation. (Skoda Fabia MK3, NJ5) Lights RVC with no light: would it be good during the night? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32988496836.html RVC with lights, would it drag too much current and break something else? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32943542311.html Current filter: no filter: seems ok from the reviews, but some people complain about noise on the screen with filter: would it really be needed? What do you know about this? https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005003870899929.html Connecting to MIB/MIB2: some cameras also come with this connector which I guess and hope is good for my MIB unit 5Q0035874A H25 0245 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33025784410.html CAN bus connection? I understand that a camera CAN bus compatible would be able to show dynamic guiding lines on the screen controlled by the movement of the steering wheel, but there are not so many cameras like this Camera angle: 130 degrees Some cameras advertised as 170 degrees but in details they say 140-170 so I guess it is not really 170 170 degrees (fisheye). I guess the fisheye would be better to see more even if a bit distorted. Camera sensor: CCD: I guess CCD is the better option, the bigger the better. CMOS: ? Camera placement: tailgate door handle vs. the reverse light. Tailgate pros: seems more common cons: you touch the door handle often Reverse light pros: install once, never touch again cons: ? -
