  1. Dear friends,

A technical bulletin was published by Skoda on March 31st regarding the Amundsen MIB 3 nav update.

The good news is that they acknowledge there is an issue and found a way around it.

The bad news is that it requires the car to be plugged at the dealer to be fixed.

I'll update the bulletin number when my mechanic gives it to me but it is euro wide.

  2. I was at the dealer this morning ( Paris area, France )  and they have received on 31st of march an internal new schedule delays up to 4 months on certain orders ... the boss of the dealership called the customers himself and told me he felt ashamed but there was absolutely nothing he could do.
He also mentioned that some 60K+ cars were delivered with no rear electric windows and no prior notifications ...
    It's a hot mess.

  3. Full is never really full 😅, there is always some air available to allow for fuel expension , road bumbs etc etc , I have never heard that sound from the car fuel tank itself but it happened while carrying fuel in jerricans.

    Not much to worry about.

Please bear in mind that the OP probably has a left hand drive car, and the photo is lhd. It may be different for rhd.

Indeed, I have a left hand drive Kamiq and it came with at the time all the bells and whistles but no foot rest 😅

    Kamiq comes with foot rest

    Hi ,

I do not have it on mine and asked the dealer about it, he has never seen it on a Kamiq ( Left hand drive market ) , would you mind taking a picture ?

    Thanks a lot !

    Hi guys,

Does anyone here have it installed ? If yes did you do it yourself or had the dealership install it for you ?

    Thanks

UPDATE - SKODA has this listed as compatible with the KAMIQ , however it IS NOT, it can only be retrofitted to a car that already have a plastic footrest.

I'm thinking about a Kamiq for my wife. Reviews have stated that the Kamiq does not offer a significantly higher driving position, but for someone with occasional  back problems, is the seat any higher than, say, a new VW Polo (the other car I'm considering), to make entry/exit a little easier? I haven't been able to see both cars in the same location to compare.

Second question, is the 95ps engine a little sluggish, and is it worth going for the 110/115ps engine? I'd appreciate any feedback

    - Seat height : I'd say it's more like a regular car than a proper SUV, We also have a VW T-Cross, same platform but it is a lot easier to slide in without having to go down to much.

    - Engine : I have the 1.5 150 on my Kamiq and the 110 PS on the T-cross, I have a better fuel economy and confort ( silence and vibrations ) out of the 1.5 150 Kamiq than the 110 VW, then again your mileage may vary but some friends that have the 4 cylinder as well share the same experience, it is smoother and quieter.

The  next maps update is May/June they are every 6 month

Exactly, the thing is that mine did not receive a single map update since November 2020 which is a bit far 😅

I have been in touch with the stealer this morning and they said that they have no idea how to do it and pushed a request at Skoda HQ to have a definitive procedure.

I'll let you guys know as soon as I have an " official " method - procedure.

  9. @roottoot No I have not done the Kamiq yet, I have done it on a MK2 Audi TTS and 3.0 Audi A5 Quattro.

I have been in touch with them when I ordered the Kamiq one year ago and they told me they did n ot have a product ready yet as they were lacking a development car.

So the experiences are mixed it seems ... 😕

  10. Hi everyone,

I have a 2021 Kamiq Monte carlo with the Amundsen system, I tried to update the navigation database ( 20-11) but it doesn't work.

It looks like there is a lot of confusion as to how to update the system.

I have tried to use it and generate routes in areas where I know the road changed a lot but it did nothing.

I then went on to the skoda website and entered my VIN, it told me my car is equiped with " Columbus " ... which is not accurate , nevertheless I downloaded the files and followed the procedure, buying a USB-C drive on purpose, I then inserted the usb drive in the most forward usb-c port under the AC controls and started to drive around for almost 2 months and it did nothing at all.

I have asked the dealership to do something about it, car went in last friday but they couldn't do it either ...

So I am currently driving around with a November 2020 map and it starts to generate problems.

Do you guys have a way to force the update or a method that works ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Regards
