  1. I haven't had much time to think about it, but I would fancy a Volvo s90. I am definitely not placing another factory order. Too much uncertainty there these days, I think.
  2. Today I officially cancelled the order and got the deposit back. Not gonna drive Skoda after all. It's one fine forum this. I've spent 7 months here chatting and reading delays-related threads. It made waiting easier. 😄
  3. If I reordered, I would have to sign an agreement. If the car is delivered in time, I'd have to buy the car or else it would be agreement violation. And I am not willing to pay them extra. Now they failed to deliver the car in agreed 6 months, so I am free to cancel.
  4. This is exactly what I am thinking. I am wondering, what if I cancelled the order and re-ordered again with 15% price extra. I have a feeling, I wouldn't need to wait until next year to get my car. Not that I am going to do that, I'd rather choose another manufacturer as I find such practise extremely unfair and disrespectful.
  5. Nah, I am not placing another factory order. If I cancelled, I would buy whatever I manage to find in stock. Thing is, I need a bigger car by year's end.
  6. Riiight, so I've got an email from the dealer that my Superb L&K 280 TSI hatch with most options is postponed until next year with provisional build week 6, 2023. Had a provisional build date in May, 2022 before. Ordered September 14th 2021. Thinking of cancelling my order...
  7. Sorry, I understand there is no arguing over taste, but I like my car to look standard, just like James May. 😄 I think now this Superb looks worse than before. 😕 https://youtu.be/Tuh2kBy897c
  8. I ordered 280PS black L&K hatchback with all optional extras except for black roof lining and sunroof.
  9. Wow, I see there are some relatively hasty deliveries. I am glad for you guys, I just hope I won't be that one to wait 12 months+. 😕
  10. I reached out the dealer first time in 6 months. Placed the order on September 2021, had no updates whatsoever. The car should have already been delivered by now. No good news however, I have "provisional build date in May, which most likely will be postponed" according to dealer. I have set myself for another 6 months until I reach out the dealer again.
  11. I live in Lithuania, it's very typical here. Of course not. Where did you get that? I simply stated my opinion, why I chose Superb over Kodiaq and elaborated why I think I needed it in further posts. There weren't any PS figures in my original post either. There weren't 245PS Kodiaq option when I made the deal. Only 188PS. And I said, "to everyone it's own". You, on the other hand, without knowing full context (as you now yourself said) come in with assumptions of my driving skills and tell me, what I need, by saying "no, you really don't". Sounds like being a hypocrite afterall, even though you said you are not. Furthermore, you yourself choose to have a more powerful new vehicle instead of less powerful? Why? Why do you want more power if you don't need it, because I only want things I need. I am practical man, I don't buy BMW for 30k+ over the Skoda, because I don't need it. I think Skoda ticks the same boxes that are relevant to me, for less. I think I made myself clear, but looks like you're either not able to comprehend text or just selectively reading, by omiting statements that doesn't fit your agenda, trying to twist this discussion back and back to prove me something, I had no intentions on arguing with in the first place (that 150 PS on a Kodiaq is enough for some people and not enough for others). Honestly I don't see point in wasting more of my time discussing about something so obvious and trivial. Have a nice day.
  12. S Some of you are trying to objectify a subjective matter. Define "enough". Is it enough to get car rolling? Because if so, even 100PS will be enough for a fully loaded Kodiaq, it will move. 245PS is adequate for a Kodiaq. If there weren't other options I would choose it, I would never choose 150PS however. I have driven a 100PS Opel Astra, however, and it was awfully slow. I drove it for 5 years, it moved, yes, but it wasn't enough for me. I would find myself between semi-trucks, where you don't have enough power to safely overtake and get sandwitched between, with semis not keeping their distance from you or deciding to overtake with oncoming traffic, making 3rd lane, pushing you to a side of the road, to fit. Racing drivers agree that having some spare horse power is safer on the road. Sure you can drive with less PS. But if you do have some extra power, you can compensate for idiots on the road. It baffles me, how people come and tell others what they need. Where do you draw the line between "want" and "need"? Do you really need a car in a first place? I am sure you could move around with public transportation, sure it would not be so convenient at times, but it would get you, where you want. Hence, by your logic, there is nothing wrong in wanting to drive a car, it's just wanting and needing are two entirely different things.
  13. I like how you're trying to prove that 150PS for a 7 seater is enough. I guess you could say that an appartment of 50m2 is enough for a family of 4, and many would agree with you, but just as many would not. I am not trying to prove that I am right, and you are wrong, I just stated my opinion why I chose Superb over Kodiaq. You on the other hand suppose if something suits you, it automatically should suit everyone else, which is not how the world is.
  14. Haha, funny you made those assumptions about my driving skills as they're not at all like you described. I am currently driving 275PS i30N hatch and its a nice nimble car. I understand that anything bigger with less horse power will feel and be slower. I feel safer knowing I can effortlessly accelerate if I need to. I just hate when small engines roar if you need some extra power at times, and if you drive around Europe you do need it. Driving at 140km/h or higher doesn't give much better fuel economy either, as those engines are operating near their limits. To everyone it's own, I guess.
  15. I agree. I was choosing between Superb and Kodiaq, but as Kodiaq didn't have a sufficient engine it should have for a vehicle this size, I chose Superb. Now I understand Superb is no performance auto, I just want a fully loaded car to have enough punch for overtaking or merging lanes.
