Thanks 😊 it’s down as brown on the log book - it’s purple and grey in different lights I really liked the colour when I first saw the car and that’s the reason I went for it to be honest, I’ve already been given a nickname for the car by my dad because of the colour, so it’s now officially called the ‘Pooper S’ 😂

I’ve already bought a replacement, I couldn’t find a Skoda even close to the same mileage or spec as my old one so I decided to go completely different and got a 2014 Mini Cooper S instead

Hi guys, My 2012 vrs got hit by a bus last month and was written off, after 3 weeks of ownership… I bought this APR airbox from awesome gti and it was genuinely only fitted for ONE day… it’s still essentially brand new… I still have all of the fixings and clamps, it’s unmarked and fits directly to the standard MAF sensor… anyone who knows APR will know that it is a top quality product and not cheap! So, unfortunately after only 3 weeks of ownership my beautiful car was assaulted by a rogue London bus and has been written off as a category s total loss, and so comes the end of my short membership to this amazing forum community 😩 I would post photographs but I’m honestly devastated at the moment, I’ve been waiting since the 31st of march for a judgement on the repair viability through my insurance and they say it was over £8000 in costs on a £10000 car, so she is no more…

I’ve made a promise to myself that I wont be messing with the mechanicals for the first year of ownership, mainly because my justification for getting it was I needed a reliable car for work duties, once the first year is up I fully intend on getting an apr map and some other bits and pieces, although and apr intake and a turbo muffler delete are already on my list as soon as funds allow, it’s just far too quiet for me… I’m used to a straight-piped PD engined golf with hybrid turbo etc, so the lack of noise is definitely an issue for me.. not fussed about exhaust noise, I want to hear induction/turbo noise when I drive it

Picked the car up today, and had to go straight from the dealer to work for my night shift, so the only photo I managed was in the dark work carpark… super happy with the car it’s so clean and tight to drive it feels brand new 😁

Thanks for the advice - to be honest I normally average 20k miles a year so quite high, I’ve got no problem changing it every few thousand if it will elongate the life of the engine though… if I was to change to the 5w40 and just do a filter service every 6,000 or so I assume that will have the desired effect as well? Definitely glad I jumped on this forum, I’ve found out loads of stuff already that will be valuable for the future

That’s the answer I was hoping for to be honest as I was a tad worried about the oil consumption issue - that’s put my mind at rest, by any chance do you have any idea how much of a job it is to replace the tensioner? I’m a mechanic by trade, but I deal in big stuff not cars, so haven’t got as much of an idea of FWD stuff thanks 👍🏻 Drew

Hi guys, I’m after a definitive answer to a question, I’ve been searching for the past couple of days, but had no luck.. My 2012 Tsi vrs is a CCZA engine code as far as I can find out (I haven’t got the car home yet), however I was under the assumption that all mk2 vrs tsi engines were gen1 ea888s. However, all of my searching has told me that a CCZA engine code is a gen2 ea888… I just want to know what info is correct to be honest, so I have a gen1 or gen2? Multiple sources are saying that engine code is a gen2.. Thanks for any help guys, Drew

Hi guys, I’m Drew and I’m new to Skoda ownership, but I’ve always had VAG cars. I recently bought this: Its got 53k miles and is absolutely minty fresh, with the much nicer dark alcantara interior (in my opinion). No real modifications as yet, I don’t pick it up until Monday, but I’ve never been able to keep a car standard so I imagine it won’t be long… I’m hoping to get along to some meet-ups in the coming better weather as well if anyone can recommend some near the Kent/Medway area. look forward to meeting people in the future 😁👍🏻

Thanks, im coming from a Mk4 golf tdi that had a fair bit of work done to it, but the ULEZ has put pay to it unfortunately, after my test drive of it yesterday I’m pretty much in love at the moment, many plans for the car over the next few years as well
