  1. Hello, I am the second owner of the Superb L&K and upon closer inspection the power socket in the back is broken. The USB charger (in the back) works fine though My wife tried plugging in her laptop but the socket itself seems (from behind the outlet) to have fallen down inside the console. I will take it to the local car electrician but I want to know if this kind of repair is viable. Did anyone else have this issue? Thanks for your answer in advance.
  2. This post can be closed. It was an error on my part and my error had nothing to do with the transmission.
  3. Went to another city and drove just a little bit more aggressive (I usually drive slow up to 50 km/h) I have a DSG automatic transmission. When it was in the 3rd gear I could hear a bit more noise coming from the transmission, but it would go away when it was switching to higher gear. The transmission overheated light came on. Should I take it to the local garage and see if theres something wrong?
  4. I'm getting the same exhaust control system light issue. Did the glow plug error show up on the tester ? I will take it to the local garage and see if it's the same case.
  5. The timeline of this issue is as follows: 1. Went to the local Skoda dealer and told them I have an issue with the car locking itself 2. They fixed the wiring in the driver's side door loom - car locked itself much much less frequently (only a handful of times) 3. Spilled coffee on the locking button in the console - car started to lock itself even more frequently 4. Replaced button - frequency of car locking itself decreased 5. Problem still persists with the car locking itself.
  6. Is that the same as isopropyl alcohol?
  7. Thank you so much for your answer. Forgot to answet sooner. I did the self test you mentioned and all is good.
  8. Thank you! Yes, I guess you might be right. Unfortunately I cannot find anyone knowledgeable about the wiring in the doors that can help me. (I already looked around for that) Can you tell me a solution? Perhaps I can look for an expert if I would know what to ask for.
  9. Hello, I spilled coffee on the button for locking/unlocking all the doors from the central console. Afterwards car locked itself randomly during driving. I replaced the button (5J0962125) and cleaned the area underneath it slightly. This partially remedied the problem, but the car still locks itself from time to time (for example: when there are bumps in the road). Do you recommend replacing the part under the button ? If so, what is the part called and what is its part number? I looked online for central locking mechanism in the Skoda Fabia II hatchback (2008) console but I can't find anything except for the actual locks for the doors (which I don't think I need to change). Let me know if you have any insight or solutions to this problem. Thank you!
  10. The previous owner gave me all the papers from all the servicing that was done on this car including DWG serviced Oil Changes. I will look through them again to be absolutely sure. Thanks
  11. It may be I did it by accident. Does Skoda Superb have the option of switching gears automatically even if it's in S mode ?
  12. The DSG has been serviced correctly to my knowledge by the previous owner also. I've only just bought it but it has been serviced right before that. I am pretty sure I haven't moved the shifter to S rather than it being in D. Small questions here: if I had shifted to S rather than D by accident how is it I didn't have to use the paddles to shift gears ?
  13. Hello, Quick background: I was driving in the rain today when the display next to the speedometer showed me the outside temperature message. Afterwards I noticed on the screen that it showed S3 instead of D3: the gears were still shifted automatically, I didn't have to use the paddles. I noticed the gears were shifting whenever it reached around 3000 rpm. I looked in the manual for this but I can't find anything. What feature is this, what is the difference from normal speeds (like D1 D2 D3 D4 etc.) and how is it triggered?
  14. Thanks for your answer. I already scheduled my fix using the OBD11 at a specialist. I will go in the coming weeks. So you didn't have to do any software update to sort the headlights adjustment ?
