  1. Forgot to mention, I have have a 2020 SE L but have extended my warranty.
  2. I'm having my heat shield replaced in the next few days under the recall. Can anyone confirm if version 1969 is now being updated as a matter of course by the dealers. Or do you have to ask for it ?
  3. Excellent explanation of the situation and, how to fix it.
  4. I had a similar issue after installing a new battery in my main keyfob. The mechanical key wouldn't stay inside. Very frustrating... It wasn't until I opened my spare keyfob and looked for a difference in position, did I notice that the little spring wasn't sitting correctly inside. With the cover off, you just have to ensure the spring is sitting flat on the plastic guides inside and allows the key to ride in and out without drag. I.e. not twisted. Hope this helps.
  5. Agreed, most annoying when screen not very wet. I managed to turn mine off using the following settings route. Hope this helps.
  6. Agree with previous response. They're positioned too low for my liking. Unless set to push the air up near vertically, they just become a constant cold draught....
  7. By trial and error, I found out that if simply stand about 30-40cm (or around 1 foot) away from the rear bumper and imitate a straight kick underneath, along the centre line, it usually works. I now work on the premise that as long as I can just see the front of my ankle it'll open. Waving your foot around i.e. left or right, just doesn't work. My problem was that although it tried to open and did unlock, it didn't seem to have the energy to lift the tailgate. This was remedied by cleaning the seals. Hope this helps.
  8. The only thing that I've got to add to my original post, is that when it was asking for the wife's login details, I simply used my own account details, as the Primary User. Despite me creating her own Skoda Connect account. I just made sure my main account was "activated" in the app. Since then, we've have had no further issues. The seat are now moving to the correct position, along with the settings for both of us. So long as you lock the car with the correct key fob. Hope this helps.
  9. Hi Craigster, I too have a similar model to yourself. I park it on my drive, which has a slight incline towards the front of the car. When I park up, I usually just select Park (which brings the auto hold on) and simply get out of the car. But like you exexperiencewhen the car the next day, the same faults appear on the dash. Fortunately, these always disappear when I start to reverse off the drive. In summary, it's just another annoyance with this model and have learnt to live with it......
  10. Just wondering if the fact that "her indoors" uses her own Skoda Connect account details makes a difference. Should I be adding her (and her keyfob) as a guest to me as the main user, or stick with trying to use her own account settings?
  11. Octavia iv SEL 1st Edition My wife's key fob is not being automatically linked to her account on the Infotainment system. It's worked in the past without fault, but now when she gets into the car and turns the ignition on. It simply brings up the Skoda login screen. The wierd thing is, if she turns the ignition off, then turns it back on again, it seems to find her and resets the seat/mirrors etc. to her liking. Anyone else had this problem? Would it help if I deleted her as another user and then simply re-enter her details as a new user? And how wouid I actually do that?
  12. Had the final decision from Skoda today after the car spent some days in the garage, trying to find the reason why the clock wasn't there. Skoda Technical maintain that it was a company decision "not to fit a clock". This I find hard to believe, especially when all other models, both new and old have one. I can only believe that they knew there was a fault, but probably due to time constraints with the1st Edition, deciding to fit it anyway, hoping no one notices its missing... The only good side to this is that they offered me the chance to try an "unofficial fix" that might sort the long standig Miles/Yards issue most of us had with the Satnav, as well a possible fix for the clock. Happily the Satnav issue has now been resolved, but not the clock.
  13. Apologies, I've always thought that it was pinned by a mistake made by myself. Is there any specific reason that you also see the same post as I do at the top?
  14. Many thanks Toot. It's only an annoyance because the pinned topic is always on top of the list of topics, under the Octavia Mk 4 heading.
