  1. You're welcome. I understand your sentiment of being frustrated with no information whatsoever!
  2. It's fruitless. Let me tell you my experience. I ordered the car in July 2021 (1.5 TSI petrol with minor extras) and in June 2022, after being almost one year without any information, I decided to try to get the information about the status of my order through another channel. I contacted our Embassy in Prague and they provided me a contact of a person. It was more like a person who knew the person, but it happened that the person (3rd one) worked within the Skoda company on a managerial position. I got the order number (the one that is provided from the dealer / importer to the factory) and gave it to that person to get any info on the status of the order. That person (3rd ) tried on various occasions to get information- without any success. But the interesting thing happened, in the customer department of Skoda, they were ****ed off with that and almost instantly contacted the importer about the situation and told what happened (that some 3rd person was inquiring about my order). Their response, being annoyed, was practically instant but they could not provide to me any information whatsoever in almost a year about my car! I was informed of reaching out by the factory to the importer by the car dealer where I placed the order. After that, I gave up altogether; I thought if the insider on a managerial position was not successful in acquiring info, nobody would. I decided to wait as long as necessary. Then in August 2022 I was informed by the car dealer that the build date was provisioned in September, and then it was built and delivered in beginning of October 2022 after almost 15 months of waiting. As you can see they (Skoda ) can respond swiftly (customer department) if they want but mostly if they are bothered/poked themselves but do not care much giving away any info to us waiting for so long.
  3. 🀞that you get it on time! If it happens, it shall become one of the best Christmas presents for you this year πŸŽ…πŸŽ„πŸŽπŸ˜‰πŸ˜ƒ.
  4. I agree it's worth waiting for, but prolonging the waiting times brings frustration. Regarding your car, there is one thing for sure; even if you forget where you left your car, you could not miss it in a parking lot even if you wanted to πŸ˜‰πŸ˜€.
  5. That is bad news! It seems that the waiting time for a new Skoda Octavia car has been extended way beyond 12 months (currently, the average delivery date is approximately 15 months), and this prolongation has become the new "normal" in most cases (with some exceptions of course).
  6. Now, as I see, you have one brand new car (Skoda) and another vintage one ( Citroen). πŸ˜€πŸ‘. Many safe miles!
  7. Congrats man! You are one lucky πŸ€ guy! But the photo is a teaser, posting a car covered with tarpaulin or whatever black cloth this is, just to provoke our curiosity even more πŸ˜€πŸ‘Ž. Still, we want to see your new black beauty uncovered πŸ˜‰!
  8. πŸ˜€ Great! Enjoy the pickup tomorrow, and have a safe first drive home! We look forward to getting your impressions and a pic, of course, πŸ˜€!
  9. I am a bit concerned about what is happening with our dear colleague @MaximusMeridius; maybe he has already immersed himself in Octavia's manual and forgot about us to kindly post a pic of his new love πŸš—πŸ˜‰πŸ˜€ or perhaps he is already too focused on a rear cam πŸ˜€?
  10. Congratulations! Safe drive and many kilometres/miles πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€. A pic of your new πŸš— would be welcomed πŸ˜€...
  11. Yes, I asked them informatively some days ago about the price. The rear camera and its installation cost 1k EUR. The reason I asked the question here about your experiences with it is to decide whether to go for it or not (it is worth it or not).
  12. Thanks for your opinion πŸ˜€πŸ‘. I intend to buy it at a car dealer where I bought a car.
  13. Yes, it's an additional option. I also have a hatch and a rear wiper πŸ˜€ and the car still looks great πŸ˜€. I am fond of better rear visibility. I learned this the hard (costly) way quite some time ago. πŸ˜€
  14. I have rear sensors; they are part of the package/original configuration. They are of assistance with backward driving, and they notify about the objects, but it's not the same as seeing them.
  15. I was in the same situation as you. In August, a car dealer informed me about the envisaged build date in September, and then in the next call, he confirmed it. He also said the estimated delivery date would be in the 41st week (mid-October). And the next unexpected call was on 3rd October when he told me I could pick up the car by the end of the week πŸ˜ƒ. I received no VIN, nothing prior. And the delivery date was in the 40th week, slightly before planned. 🀞for you to get your πŸš— soon!
  16. πŸ˜€πŸ‘ It's a pleasure to read that you enjoy the ride with your new 4-wheeled love πŸ˜ƒ I like it too, although we only started to get to know each other. πŸ˜ƒ I still need to get used to all the functions. The driving is much softer compared to Fabia (it used to be my dad's car, which I drove for some time). I'm thinking of upgrading with the rear camera (I didn't think about that when placing the order πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ). It has quite a large rear πŸ˜ƒ and I am a bit unsure when moving backwards, out of the garage, unable to see what is behind. What experiences do you and others have with/(out) a rear camera?
  17. You are right. Out of curiosity, I compared my order as of July 2021 (delivered beginning of this month, October 2022): 1.5 TSI, Ambition, with some minor extras. The price increase for my configuration is 3,500.00 EUR.
  18. Thank you πŸ˜€! I mentioned the build date in my post; it was in August, I think. I did not say anything about the pick-up of my car this week until it was a done deal today (that is safely parked in my garage at home πŸ˜€). Call it being superstitious, but I prefer it that way 😁.
  19. Guys, after less than 15 months of patiently waiting for my car, D-day has arrived today.πŸ† It is a bitter-sweet moment, though, on one side and at the same time, a birthday present to me (BD tomorrow) πŸ˜€. It was worth waiting for it. At the beginning of this week, the dealer called me with surprising info that I could pick up the car this week. I didn't even get the VIN. It was more than a year since I placed the order with no information; in August, the info foresaw the build date in September and an estimated delivery date in the 41st week of 2022. But it arrived a bit early, just for my BD πŸ˜€. I hope and wish you to get some positive information and surprises with your orders, as I did.
  20. It seems that this year's Christmas πŸŽ„πŸš˜ present comes to you a bit earlier than usual. πŸ˜€ I wish you that time until you finally pick it up runs quickly! 🀞
  21. The only rule with Skoda is there is no rule. 😁 I think I ordered a car before you; it's with manual transmission and less additional equipment and still hasn't got it. The expected delivery for my order is mid-October; we will see. Mid-July 2021-> Mid-October 2022=> 15 months. I recently talked to a car dealer, and he mentioned that one customer cancelled the order in May this year, and at the same time, another placed an order. And because the configuration of the second order was similar to the first cancelled one, the second customer got the car already in August this year. So the waiting period was only three months. And probably the higher price of this car also sped up the delivery πŸ˜€.
