  1. this would make sense its weird location for an airbag ecu there is 0 tolerance to fit a hand down there i did check the wires coming out of that to make sure there were no bodge jobs done to it. i did see the transmission tunnel seemed a little loose when i did take it off might be a place for me to check for other issues.
  2. Yeah i would think the same but i have seen a lot of skodas over the last couple of days nearly all of them had the same lights on as me i will have a dig into this issue as it could be something sinister like the door wiring looms do you know what pin they link to on the BCM so i can if there shorted to the ground i did find a hidden module for something under the transmission tunnel and i did not see any burnt wires so if you can find a pint out this would be amazing as then i get to the end of the issue with the DRL
  3. So not fully but the drivers side door is working as per the Manual but passenger side door is not working but I know why it’s cuz I chopped the gray and white wire going from that door to the Bcm to get rid of a weird short I will need to run a new wire the lights are still stuck on so no idea what that’s about probably a dealer ship option that’s stuck on my model as it’s seems to be the base fabia with only a radio upgrade from the dealer that’s it really as I have the swing instead of the lower tier option as the engine I have is a BBM so a 1.2 3cylinder polo engine
  4. Right the issue has been solved the new harness was not playing ball not sure why and gave up on it there is nothing wrong with it matching pin outs but I won’t go there it has been winding me up since 6pm it is now 12pm so what the issue is nothing the Bcm is fine as the short was the ground cable that I chopped out and for good Measure I chopped out the gray and white cable and replaced the hole cable for drivers door only this will soon be the case for the passenger side door as well as the cable is dead the window module is finally working correctly as in tended so we will soon see tomorrow if my hard work paid off the Bcm was not happy about being unplugged 5times today but everything is normal now the saying blood swet and tears was real today if something else wiring related goes wrong im generally going to have a mental breakdown lol
  5. ahh okay interesting looks like I’m going to have to mess about with the other side now then some how at the mo I only have drivers side door connected and still showing a short as I chopped the white and gray cable at the Bcm luckily I have left my self enough to reverse the thing I have done but I might try and run a new white and gray from the passages side of the car to the same connection to see if the negative shot goes away as this might be a signal as when the door is unplugged shot goes away but the new harness has nothing wrong with it no brakes and no issues in side of the harness as well I might test the broken harness to see if this is the same issue as it’s could be a dead module by the sounds of what I’m seeing
  6. And just double checked it’s no longer shorting anymore but window has stopped working hmmm I really don’t understand this issue
  7. i have removed the cable completely and replaced it with a temp cable to test with well insulated spade connectors and it seems to still be on body ground but not the brown ground wires anymore maby it’s my multimeter playing up?
  8. Right I have replaced the broken cable for the Bcm the signal wire and now its showing on pin 17 on the Bcm now but still shows there is a short even though I have chopped the cable
  9. Sorry to not be clear I meant pin 5 on a piller is shored to ground and nothing on pin 17 on the Bcm side
  10. Right we have a problem no signs of life on pin 17 on the BCM window pin nothing on a continuity test but there is a direct short to ground from pin 16 on the a puller but not on Bcm nothing on Bcm pins no shorts on the Bcm side I have checked all pins and no shorts luckily but this seems to not be good when ever I mess with the higher part of the loom the shot impedance drops down to 0.02 so nearly not a short I have made it in shot by messing with the harness I’m not really sure what to do now
  11. I think the code is this 6R0959802 Let me know if this sounds right i did find a part via that number that matched sorry im at work so just viewed a pic i took of it a while ago.
  12. This has made me very happy hearing this information if it is a dead BCM do you have the ability to fix it as im not good at SMD soldering let me know a price for that as you are the pro lol if not ill have to look into some options of second hand BCMs from what im reading online it seems like they needed to be coded so i think i would rather have the BMC for this car repaired i don't wish it to be the case but its always good to have a backup plan.
  13. Where is this module located for the windows im assuming the worst and thinking its in the middle of the dash hidden where my little hands can't fit im assuming lol. If the module is the problem then this is going to be fun luckily it sounds like a cheap part as you mentioned.
  14. Perfect ❤️ we will soon see how deep i have got myself into this car im getting quite giddy about the thought of finally fixing this issue if i cant don't it I'm going to have to put the white flag in but i'm determined to fix it now.
  15. thats good how are the pins layd out does it go from top to bottom or bottom to top on this connecter or do i need to just send it and play around for a while
  16. good plan i need to steal a multimeter tonight and have a play with it hopefully i get to the bottom of the issue.
  17. With the BCM is this located behind the fuse board on these cars is it located behind the hidden relays with the white and black plugs in the back of it? I have been assuming for a while this is the BCM but i could be horribly wrong this is what i think its looks like by feeling the plugs on it last night could not really see it though as it was dark and i was upside down. #
  18. Thats true the wire is still connected to ground just need to find the end of it to get rid of the little bugger i need to take a picture of the mess it has made so see if there is anything sticking out like a sore thumb but the switch does not do the auto up or down so i think the switch its self is on the way out as well which is not handy.
  19. okay interesting it's pin 16 that is burnt out some other wires are melted together but locks are working fine so im assuming its only touching the signal wire going to the BCM that keeps shorting to ground so if i remove this ground from the harness the problem should be fixed of course ill need to put in a new ground and chase a new wire but that's for another day of headaches after work it sounds like its under the transmission tunnel as the tunnel seems to be lose to the car so i think someone has messed with it before trying to find the ground to remove it so im assuming its under there if not how do i get to the one on the negative terminal and ideas witch one it would be and where it leads to.
  20. hi, This is correct same part number everything is working like the old broken loom so the windows will stop working after 15mins the loom went in fin all pins matched the car and seemed all good then the next day the windows stopped working and then i found the burnt-out ground on the other side of the connecter that had been there for a while by the looks of the copper it started to turn green so it had been like it for a while and it seems to have melted itself to all of the other wires and i did separate as many away from the ground as possible but i don't know where the wire ends to change this ground.
  21. hi, The loom was replaced last week and i have found more wires that are not happy under the dash 😞 i think i have bitten off more than i can chew with this car im not going to give up just yet there might be some hope i did separate all of the wires that where melted together and just stuck some temp tape to make sure nothing shorts out on the ground but i think this ground that is burnt witch was not my doing must be shorting out deeper in the loom witch will make me cry i only want working windows im not asking alot fabia wich would explain why fuse 35 was blown as well as my reversee light fuse.
  22. Hi, Right i think this is an issue with wiring as I have found a ground from the driver's side door on the car end of the loom that has been burnt out and seems to be stuck to a lot of wires the door seems to work if the loom is unplugged and then plugged back in the passagers door seems to be doing the same no issues with wires on that side of the car I'm not sure where pin 16 on the female end in the car goes to its a ground but I'm not sure if it's plugged into the BCM or something else this ground comes from the motor and its the small ground not the big one in the window of the door and then goes into the car into a bigger harness that seems to go to the back of the car and they both meet at the same point in the dash but after that they vanish around a corner that im unable to get my hand into and im unable to find where they go any ideas if they just loop back around to get to the BCM or is there a window motor module deep in the dash.
  23. so the motor ground the smaller ground is connected to the BMC? if so this would make since as I have found a exposed ground going though the harness on the driver side of the car coming from the female end of the wire and it seems to work for about 15 mins and then stops working after that until the harness if disconnected and reconnected and then the windows start working again
  24. Yeah I get what you mean luckily the car still starts and drives I’m taking a lot of time out of my evening tonight fixing these wiring faults and by the sounds of it I’m going to need to inspect the main harness for more bodge work really
  25. I need to buy a scan tool really I don’t have one so it sounds like a shout the battery is brand new I might need to go on a wire hunt after replacing this fuse by the sounds of it
