  1. The seperate links are available from LLL parts. You have to get the part numbers from the originals to order the correct parts. I was going to go down this route if the clips didn't work. Phil
  2. Hello I recently fitted one of there clips on my Roomster. It was purchased from Halfords. It can be done without removing the whole unit but it's a bit more of a fiddle due to the space you have to work in. Is was not particularly easy and it took me two attempts. The clips are quite hard to open to enable them to slide over cup and locate at the back of the remains of the ball the fits in the cup. I did read somewhere the the clips available on the internet are easier to fit. Phil
  3. Thank for the response. It's all sorted now thanks to the brilliant response from breezy_pete. There was no output from the alternator so it was swapped for a reconditioned unit by Pete. Many thanks again to Pete.
  4. I am behind the shops on Beechcroft road just along from Kings down. You help would be much appreciated and rewarded.
  5. It gets used two or three times a week including weekends when it gets a good run. I've been to Cornwall twice this year racking up 1800 miles and the car never missed a beat. If it's the blue wire does that involve getting under the car to fix it? Now I'm in my seventies it's not something I look forward to anymore!
  6. 2009 Skoda Roomster 1.4 BXW engine. 80000 miles. The battery light has started flickering when the engine is running. There is no charge getting to the battery whether the light is on or off. Is this likely to be either the brown or blue wire going to the alternator or something else? I have checked the battery connections and the earth points. Regards
  7. The garage owner where they did the job said they had never changed one before. They were a Skoda dealer for years but have gone independent. Just pot luck I suppose. Phil
  8. Sorry meant to put this on the original post. 036121188B Regards
  9. Just a quick update. Car went to garage where they pressure tested the cooling system. There was coolant dripping from the inlet manifold but they couldn't see where from. Removed the manifold and found the item in the picture had opened up along a glued seem. Seems to be some sort of device for heating the inlet manifold using the hot coolant. Garage (ex Skoda dealership) said they had never changed one before. Anyway thanks for the advice.
  10. Thanks again for the replies. The garage only uses genuine parts and have done all the cars cam belt and water pump changes. They were Skoda dealers for years but are now independent. I will get them to have a look at it.
  11. Sorry should have said on the right.
  12. Thanks for the quick reply. There has been a slight leek for sometime but it was so minimal I just lived with it. Just before my holiday I had a new cam belt and water pump fitted. Could this have disturbed the o'ring where you have circled it on the left?
  13. First post. 2009 1.4 BXW with 70000 miles. I have a coolant leek from somewhere at the back of the engine. It is wet on the underside of the inlet manifold from where it drips down to the ground. I have just done 1200 miles on holiday and I had to top it up three times from min to max. The engine never missed a beat and is still running fine. I know it's possible that it could be the head gasket but is there anywhere else it could be coming from? I have done all the usual visual checks for gasket failure but I appreciate that it could still be the problem. Regards
