I dont have a diagnostic tool, would this be worth investing in? is their a recommended one to go with?

i am having very similar issue to yourself, i only found this thread after posting one myself. I'm not very knowledgeable about these infotainment systems (my previous car used a CD player) I have no idea what to do and when i do searches i never find anyone who has had the same issue.

Hi all, I brought my Skoda Octavia 2019 a little over a year ago (warranty is now out!) and i am now having the infotainment system keeps turning off and on seemingly at random. It seems to me that it doesn't seem to know the engine is actually running most of the time (or sporadically it seems to know the engine is on but hard to tell). Some journeys it will only power off and on once or twice but other times it turns off every 5 seconds until it eventually locks out and says the infotainment is locked out due to it thinking i have stolen it and it asks me to start the engine (while i am currently driving) i couldn't find anything obviously wrong anywhere but i don't have a clue what to do. has anyone else had this? i did try and look in the forum but couldn't find anything specific. I am a bit gun shy about going to a garage as in the past i have been screwed over massively so am very suspicious of garages. Any help would be appreciated.
