Hi grateful if anyone can help, my infotainment system will play music then stop after a few seconds, then will start again until eventually it will show the message componant protection active and then i cant do anything even turning ignition on and off wont turn message off it just disappears and then all of a sudden music will start playing again , it seems to prefer to play music when the car isnt moving which is annoying thank you to anyone that reads this.

A scan with VCDS or similar might give some clues...

 

I wonder if a software update might help but that might be a wiring issue on the CAN-bus.

i am having very similar issue to yourself, i only found this thread after posting one myself. I'm not very knowledgeable about these infotainment systems (my previous car used a CD player) I have no idea what to do and when i do searches i never find anyone who has had the same issue.
