How to replace the "Rear Center Light"
I am afraid I would not be able to tell the whole truth since I don't remember all the steps. But essentially it was a matter of removing screws and deattaching the clips that hold the interior in place. This way you can reach the screws for the spoiler which needs to be removed as well. When you have removed the spoiler from the car, then it is easy, just unscrew the light and replace it. In my case i saw that the screws were super rusty and I could see that water had reached the light, which also explains why it died. Bought a new light from Škoda directly and that one had some improvements done for the screw holes which could be an indication that they know about the issue with the lights. Happy I did not buy a used light and hoping this will last longer. Sorry for the not so detailed description, but the workshop manual helped me a lot in identifying screws and steps , even though it included some steps that were not necessary for my car (but could potentially be needed for your car)

How to replace the "Rear Center Light"
I did it myself recently. Wasn't as described in the workshop manual and did not require any repainting. Some patience and it is doable.

How to replace the "Rear Center Light"
I see, I get the confusion now... Well I have more than one car, so the info on my account is for my main car. This post is for a newer one.

How to replace the "Rear Center Light"
I bought the car used, knowing about the issue with the light, but couldn't imagine that it would be this tricky removing the spoiler to actually replace it. In the Workshop manual @TheUltraRunner sent me, there is a note saying : The tailgate and spoiler cannot be removed without being destroyed without damaging the paintwork. So if I understand it correctly, there is no way of removing the spoiler without damaging the paintwork (removing the spoiler is required to replace the light that is not working)

How to replace the "Rear Center Light"
I'm not sure I understand your response but I will try and give some more details. The car is from 2021 Škoda Octavia Combi 2.0 TDI DSG Sequential, 150hp, 2021 I posted in the correct section of the forum since the mk3 Skoda stopped production 2020. I am only looking for some guide / help from anyone that has successfully removed the rear spoiler and how to do it. Not sure what you are on about really in your response, maybe you are responding to the wrong thread?

How to replace the "Rear Center Light"
Bought a 2021 Octavia 2.0 Diesel with few miles but a broken center brake light. Not so expensive to buy, but absolutely no information or videos/guides online on how to remove the old one to fit the new one. Attaching some images to further describe exactly what I'm trying to replace.

Plastic cap missing for AC Gas Refill
I will contact my local dealer to see what they will charge me for this, but since I am driving the past 1-2 years with very little invested in the car (it serves me well) I might treat it with a 17£ plastic cap. 😊

Plastic cap missing for AC Gas Refill
Amazing, thank you

Plastic cap missing for AC Gas Refill
Does anyone know how to find the part number for this rather insignificant part? It is the plastic cap which is supposed to cover the ac refiller hose. Btw is there a site with an exploded view of parts for the MK3 Skoda Octavia, so that one could find the part number for these kind of things?

Thank you @varooom The update went smoothly and I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming days to see if I can use my car without getting a jump scare every time I open a door

@varooomHi, can you please send me the firmware update available for my model SW Train: MHIG_EU_SK_K1552 MU Version: 0411

Loud noise from speakers regularly
The issue actually came back after a few days, although it's nowhere near as frequent, not as loud, and sounds like it is isolated to some of the front speakers. I am waiting for a firmware update file and hopefully it will fix the issue. To be continued.

I am based in Stockholm so it could very well be the case. I really want to know, in case it returns and how to avoid that it ever does. Also I need closure 😂

I did a factory reset and the popping sound has magically disappeared completely. Let's see if it will stay that way, but in any way, that was quite unexpected. What could it be so that a factory reset fixed the issue? I also can't remember if the infotainment system is supposed to boot up when unlocking the car or when turning the ignition on. As per now after the factory reset, the infotainment system boots up when turning the ignition on, but if my memory isn't failing me I think that it used to boot when unlocking the car. Since it is working well now I would love to know what the issue was and what setting / software issue caused the popping sound.

Nice, I will try and get hold of someone that can help me with that. Thanks for the help, and sorry for being slow at times.

Come to think of it you are right. I will, as a first step, try and manually turn off the lights next time I leave the car. Regarding the diagnostic tool, I have went through fault codes with my obdeleven tool, and the VW workshop ran a full diagnosis without finding anything strange or remotely connected to anything that could cause this.

Maybe I was not clear enough in my description. The sound is not necessarily depending on a door being opened. I have experienced the sound after unlocking it and while approaching the car (without opening the door). So this would actually also disregard any internal lights problem as well. However it is a bigger chance for the sound to occur if and when I open one of the doors, including the trunk.

@Gerrycan Interesting thought, what would be an approach to determine if this is the case? Is there a fuse or something one could pull for the interior lights just to isolate and troubleshoot? This issue was not present when buying the car. Maybe 1 month after the purchase it started happening.

@varooom Yes I would like the new firmware please, and thank you in advance.

I had the car in for a different matter at a VW dealership and asked them to take a look at this issue since they were going to notice it anyway while handling the other matter (the sound comes frequently while the car is unlocked and doors are getting opened and closed). The guy told me they had never seen anything similar and running a diagnosis didn't tell them anything. The sound does appear to come from all speakers and is not isolated to the front. It's funny you should mention doing a firmware update since I was actually considering the following steps: Factory reset of the infotainment system (observe if it changes anything) Firmware upgrade if the factory reset doesn't do anything. How would I go about updating my system? Attaching a picture of the current version.

Bumping this thread and adding some recording of said sound. If anyone can recognize it and what the problem could be. In this video I have unlocked the car and opened the door. That's it. VID20220827110439~2.mp4

Yes. Any door, including trunk.

It's a strange one, the car is unlocked but all the doors are closed. And when I open a door, I get this sound. I will reply with diagnostic result when I get hold of a tool.

I would suggest no. The car is a 2014 model and I bought it just two months ago from a dealership. They didn't mention any customization what so ever. The car only had one previous owner.
