    I'm after a bit of advise relating to the problems I've have with my new vRS.

    I took delivery of it on the 15th of August and since then I have had multiple issues with it.

    The biggest problem is the gearbox: -

    • There is a judder on the clutch
    • Smooth gear change is difficult
    • There is a low pitched whine from the gearbox at low speeds

    I have taken the car back to the dealer twice now, the first time the technicians report who drove it said that there was a judder but this was engine judder (wtf?) and not clutch related and that there was a whine noise but he didnt know if this was 'normal with it being a vRS' and he would have to wait until another come in to compare it to. The conclusion of the discussion with the service guy was to take it away and 'monitor' the problem to see if it improves or gets worse???

    Booked it in for a second time....this time 2 technicians drove the car and both said that there was absolutely nothing wrong the car! The sales manager even had the nerve to say 'if the car is driven like it is supposed to be driven the gearchange is fine, however if it is thrashed it will be jerky' Which annoyed me to say the leased...however I did manage to keep my cool with her.

    She then passed me back to the chap I booked it in with who said he couldn't fix a car that has nothing wrong with it and to call them if any other problem arise with the car :confused:

    But alas the problem don't end there... I also asked them to look at the paintwork as in low light under my security lamp I noticed swirl marks on the bonnet and a haze which looked like it had been poorly polished with what I suspected was a machine polisher. Asked them to inspect it, again nothing wrong with it....:mad:

    So I called the garage again this week who said they would speak to the Diamondbrtite rep. Friendly chap called Ian came and had a look at the car the other night who inspected the paintwork and confirmed my fears about the machine polishing...He has since contacted the dealer and instructed them to strip and reapply the Diamondbrite as the stage 2 polished seemed to take the swirling out.

    So any ideas what I should do about the gearbox? Should I take it to another dealer in the hope the they actually address the problem and not just fobb me off with BS? Or complain to Skoda UK?

    Any advise will be very much appreciated :thumbup:

    If I was asked to summerise Clock Garage Derby in one word I would say - POOR.

    Unhelpful sales staff and an arrogant approach to after service seems to be there mantra at Clock.

    I'm beginning to regret buying a new car from them, wish I'd waited until Autotraders had got the vRS I was after..

    My advise, steer clear.

    The term stutter was given to the slight hesitation that is experienced at low revs under acceleration.

    As a side note I happened to see a document which said that there is an ECU update required for 2200 affected UK TFSi Octy's. I know SEAT have been 'flashing' them and I think VW have been as well.

    Hoping to get more info soon.

    Word of warning - It will relieve you of your remap if you happen to have one.

    Do you still have that document? As mine is very snappy from 1st to 2nd with a considerable delay. Took it to the dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong! :confused:

    New vRS - Cutch judder

    I tok delivery of my new vRS last wed and since then it has develped a judder when puling off in 1st. Also, you have to be careful with the clutch when going from 1st to 2nd as it snaps if you are not careful.

    My sound like im bein picky but there is a sight wine from the gearbox at low speeds.

    I am I bein paranoid guys? Or is there known issues with the gearbox?

    Buy Skoda or look elsewhere ???

    I love the looks and overall feel of the car but the reliability has always been the main criteria when buying a new car and after reading all these threads i am really in two minds whether to buy one or look elsewhere ?

    I'd go for the 2.0TDI over the 1.9 unit, although I managed to get my 1.9 Bora upto 175bhp (mapped) :)

    VRS free upgrade ?

    Hi,

    I'm a private buyer currently shopping around to buy a new Octavia VRS Tdi estate and thought my luck was in when Skoda announced a free upgrade on the VRS ending 30th September. However, after reading some of the threads on this site it seems this upgrade has been running for some time and just keeps getting extended. The upgrade consists of the 'plus pack' ( jumbo box, dual climate air con and rear electric windows ) worth

    Fabia 1.4 16v

    Hi peeps, after a bit of advice pls.

    My partner bought an 03 plate Fabia 1.4 16v Elegence 6 months ago and it has been getting progressively slower and slower at pull of and acceleration as time goes by.

    To be fair I have we have never been happy with the clutch as the bite is very high which can make pulling off tricky at the best of times. We have taken it back to the dealer and they said they could find nothing wrong with the car or clutch. The service manager even commented that she has a Fabia and that hers is the same and that is just the way they are.

    Sounds like a load of BS to me, and going on my recent experiences with there sales team (as I have recently ordered a vRS) I am lead to believe that this is there attitude to customers in general.

    There is also a noticable stutter when ticking over and a significant loss in power when the aircon is switched on.

    Has anyone had the same type of problems with there Fabia? Any advice would be really appreciated as I going to need some solid info when I book it in or they will just fobb us off again.

    Hello to all on the forum! First posting so please excuse me if I make any mistakes!

    I have just ordered my new Octy vRS in black, got the upgrade pack included which I was chuffed with.

    Just one question tho, I want to upgrade the standard stream headunit as I wasnt impressed with the quality when I heard it. I also want a unit with RCA outs as I have a JL 12" sub and a 4 x75w Phoenix gold amp from my Bora and would be a shame to let it gather dust in the coal shed.

    I have been told by the stealer that the audience is a good setup, but when I checked the brochure I found that it comes in at
