  1. I've had a similar issue with my 1.6 occy TDI, passenger airbag front, kept saying it was the igniter, ground to earth. Checked everything, replacing airbag, fuses and igniter wiring. Code would not go away and and was at my wits end. I'd read that someone had replaced their airbag ECU. I replaced mine with one from a s/h car identical to mine which had no errors and after clearing the fault, it went away! (fingers crossed) This might be handy for anyone who's been experiencing issues with their airbag error. You'd need to get one from an identical car that has not been in a prang, not easy!
  2. I've recently replaced all 4 injectors, fitted new return lines and spring clips, and coded the injectors. However, the return lines on 1 and 2 injectors are leaking and coming off after test drive. Sounds like too much pressure in return pipes to me? Car starts and runs great. Anyone had this problem and cured it?
  3. Hi folks, after replacing injectors on my occy, 1.6tdi and replacing leak off pipe with new, the number 2 leak off pipe keeps blowing off, I've fitted new clips (but ordering another set just in case) had to replace this injector as first one was faulty where spring clip went. New injector spring clip slot is ok. Any thoughts as its starting to get my nerves lol
  4. Update on the above, fitted 4 reconditioned injectors, and new return lines and coded the injectors. Everything working fine but one injector doesn't have a good fit with the return line, it's too loose and almost popping out (I can move it without too much effort with engine off. Any ideas, could it be poor injector? Or is there a way of holding it in better. I've fitted new clamp springs and still the same.
  5. Probably best to get genuine new ones and bite the bullet lol at least they'll be good for a few years. Ive noticed a green mark on injector 3, as if its been replaced with a second hand one maybe? Yeah, this one's defo a keeper, low mileage and vgc. Were they VDO /Siemens that they used or Bosch injectors when garage replaced them? I'm also thinking of changing glow plugs (not because of the injector fault code, but being over 10 years and no idea if they have been done previously, will give peace of mind on fuel and starting)
  6. Yeah mine's a 1.6 CAYC, oh well, if it is injector failure, I've seen reconditioned ones, which are cheaper, but would it be worth it, if I intend to keep the car a good few more years?
  7. Ah ok, many thanks, I'll have a look tomorrow as I'm away after that with work until Sat. Having not experienced this before, where should I be looking to begin with in terms of earth points? Is the ECM under the windscreen scuttle part?
  8. No, only the orange glow plug light at first, but it came on after unloading from the recovery vehicle afterwards
  9. Many thanks Warrior193. Fingers crossed it's not going to be an actual injector replacement (but I'm prepared for it just in case!)
  10. Hi folks Whilst driving back from Birmingham on Sat, the glow plug warning light flashed, car misfired and idled erratically and we managed to limp to a laybay for recovery. After getting home, OBDeleven showed following error codes: P020400 Cylinder 4 injector circuit static P060600 ECM/PCM processor Intermittent I also have P067 Cylinder 1 Glow Plug circuit Intermittent, although that has been there for a few weeks and I'm guessing it could be a faulty or worn glow plug? I wonder if you peeps can help me please. I'm thinking of buying new glow plugs anyway as I've had the car over 2 years second-hand so no idea if they have been changed, previously. I'm prepared for a worst case scenario of a possible new injector, although I only use decent diesel and its has annual carbon clean. Are the above codes more likely electrical connectors or relay fault or an actual fault with a glow plug and injector? Car is Octavia Greenline 1.6tdi 63k let me know if you need more info Cheers Aled
  11. Hi everyone, I've recently purchased a rear LED light set, all E marked and will need coding to the car. The local Skoda main dealer won't code aftermarket lights, so my question, is there anyone in the Anglesey/Bangor area that can code them in and the fee please? I've trial fitted the lights and the rear fogs come on with the sidelights. The brake and indicators work fine. Many thanks Al
  12. Brill! Many thanks for the info and vid - a simple fix too
  13. Hi Can anyone help me with the following please, Behind the front passenger side fog lamp plastic blanking cover, I've discovered a cable and plug with a clip, but not sure of where it should go. Tracing it back there is another wire that goes off that to one of the front horns. The car doesn't have an alarm or sensors inside the car, so wondering if my Octavia should have an alarm and this plugs into it? Both horns work ok and there are no warning lights on the dash for anything else. I thought it might be a connector for a fog lamp but can't see one on the other side, although I tried a spare foglamp from another vehicle of the same age but it wouldn't quite fit. I've attached an image and wondering if anyone can shed some light? Can send more photos if needed. Many thanks Al
  14. Apologies for hijacking an old thread, but managed to safely remove the connector when I recently swapped the front passenger seat for a better one (also the yellow outer casing was slightly damaged and cracked (so wanted to make sure everything was safe as can be, by replacing the outer casing) Once you've popped out the orange tab from the connector as magic62 says above, I then used a paperclip opened out and inserted it into the small hole under each of the the thin metal connectors and left it there as this sufficiently lowered the small metal catch inside and I was able to remove the individual wires safely without damaging anything. The paperclip can be removed and the process repeated for the next wire. Hope this helps anyone, give me a shout if you need more info
  15. Cheers all, managed to get a genuine net set for a tenner - old stock and last one - back of the net might come in handy to catch a few crabs off the pier !
