Hello Everyone. I'm looking for some advice please. My electric struts started playing up a while ago, would open on the outside tailgate release and the internal button near the gear shifter but not close with the close button, so I had to close the tailgate manually. The control on the fob was very hit and miss. This then developed into not opening or closing on either switches nor the fob. I replaced both struts yesterday, and they work through full range of motion, but when the external release button on the tailgate or the release button near the gear shifter are pressed, on 8 or 9 occasions out of every 10 the tailgate releases lifts a cm or so then stops and falls back down under the weight of the tailgate, then occasionally it releases and rises all the way to fully open. Does anyone know what the issue might be please? Could it be a coding issue through VCDS or something like that perhaps? Any advice or things to try would be very welcome. Thanks

Interior light in roof lining

Thanks. Where is the search on the mobile version please? -
Hi everyone. i think that the contacts in the switch for the roof light might be a bit corroded or something, as the interior light sometimes comes on when the doors are opened and sometimes it doesn’t, but if you operate the switch on and off a few times and then leave it in the central position it works. i want to remove the unit to check it over but i don’t want to damage it taking it out. Does anyone know the correct way to remove this unit to avoid damaging it please? cheers

Price dropped to £500 for all 5 with tyres

Hello everyone, I have replaced the 18" wheels (3T0601025K 7.5Jx18H2 offset ET 46) on my 2011 Superb 4x4 Estate and now have all 5 for sale - as a set. 4 of them were running on the car, and had been refurbished in the middle of last year just before I bought the car, and so are in extremely good condition, see photos below. These wheels have Firestone Firehawk SZ90 225/40/18 tyres on them with decent tread remaining. The spare wheel is in unrefurbished / fair condition (several fairly light scuffs, no gouges) but this wheel has a brand new unused Dunlop 225/40/18 tyre on it. I have seen posts on ebay etc at around £400.00 for 4 unrefurbished wheels with poor tyres, so I would be looking for £500 for the set not including any delivery costs. Please message me if you are interested. Thanks a lot Mark

These wheels have Firestone Firehawk SZ90 225/40/18 tyres on them with decent tread remaining. The spare wheel is in unrefurbished / fair condition (several fairly light scuffs, no gouges) but this wheel has a brand new unused 225/40/18 tyre on it. I will be happy to send you photos of all 5 if you are interested in them, but the photo below is typical of the 4 running wheels. I have seen posts on ebay etc at around £400.00 for 4 unrefurbished wheels with poor tyres, so I would be looking for a slightly higher pro-rata price per wheel for the set of 5. Please message me if you are interested. Thank you

cheers mate, is that 100% definite - some people on a FB group had said some of the Mk2 models had them as well, so I'm a bit confused.

Hello everyone, I have been made aware of the possibility that the header tank may contain a silica bag which is intended to prolong the life of the coolant, but can sometimes split and clog up the heater matrix, resulting in a massively expensive repair. How will I know if my specific tank has the silica bag in it or not please? I can't see any marking relating to "mit silica" or anything like that, but the markings are partially obscured to the right facing the inside of the engine bay. Any advice would be very welcome? Thank you

Cheers @chimaera Where is the build label located please? Is it only possible to buy the OEM towbar from Skoda, and do you know roughly what they cost please? Thanks again -
Hello everyone. I am looking for some advice regarding the fitting of a towbar to my Superb MkII Estate please. I have seen on various owners groups etc that people's experiences of having a towbar fitted are wide and varied, and that some vehicles come "pre-prepared" for a towbar being fitted, with some of the electrics etc bring in place ready to connect into. I have also seen that if towbars are fitted by places which don't really know about the Superb have made real hatchet jobs of cutting into the bumpers and messing up the parking sensors. Could anyone point my in the right direction to establish if my car has the pre-prepared kit on it, and how to avoid a bodge-it job of the fitting, maybe even suggest a known and trusted fitting company who operate in the North West area? Many thanks Mark
