2011 Elegance Estate - Electric Tailgate issues

Hello Everyone.

I'm looking for some advice please.

My electric struts started playing up a while ago, would open on the outside tailgate release and the internal button near the gear shifter but not close with the close button, so I had to close the tailgate manually.

The control on the fob was very hit and miss.

This then developed into not opening or closing on either switches nor the fob.

I replaced both struts yesterday, and they work through full range of motion, but when the external release button on the tailgate or the release button near the gear shifter are pressed, on 8 or 9 occasions out of every 10 the tailgate releases lifts a cm or so then stops and falls back down under the weight of the tailgate, then occasionally it releases and rises all the way to fully open.

Does anyone know what the issue might be please?

Could it be a coding issue through VCDS or something like that perhaps?

Any advice or things to try would be very welcome.
