i ride a 1700cc motorbike V2 110/ftlbs of grunt ... made by yamaha ... nearly 20 years old ... stopped production in 2009 so i'm into parts from the rest of the planet and moderating our forums 

ok i am rubbish at tinkering with cars but just fine with a motorcycle ... go figure  

my bike is quite unique ...

2 plugs per cylinder 

mitsubishi gallant ecu and all its sensors 

runs fuel injectors

runs best on the cheapest unleaded fuel and runs on ethanol 10 will go to 15 

aluminium frame makes fast corning

front shocks are R1 inverted race

brakes from big xjs 

self cancelling indicators 

weighs 650 lbs wet 

kevlar belt drive train 

5k limiter in every gear

burns rubber on idle and we coast along at 80 at 3k revs all day 

so cars ...

had an 03 avensis gls diesel that completed 320k miles easily before retiring

an 06 honda civic ictc 2.2 diesel given for 900 at a great garage i h&s'd for a few years 

took that from 140k to 220k before the valve chain was far too noisy to ignore 

now i have the skoda which is my private buy after having to return a sh't dsg l&c octavia to a dealer in essex !! the refund only came back 30 days after returning car to them .. after my bank rang them about a charge back they agreed to pay me on my debit card 

one phone call from the bank about loss of credit rating whilst they waited for the payment and 15 mins later refund pops up 

yup ..  muscle power of banks is bad credit rating ..  trading standards and dvsa have also waded in 

so i love these sites ... hope i can learn and share
