  1. Hello, I will post my experience with the local delaer in Romania - best would be to ask first. As mentioned by others, when I ordered my Octavia in Jan/Feb 2022, there was no reverse camera option for the Style variant, either by itself or as part of a promo package, like it is now. I could have gotten a reverse camera only if upgrading to Sportline or RS. As a sidenote, I remember I could add the 360ยฐ camera option to the Style, for a very unwhorthy price. Going back to the story, ordered the car without the camera. In March, when recieving notice about the delivery I contacted the dealer and asked if they would mont an aftermarket camera, they said yes. So I ordered one from Poland, because the vendor in RO (for the same very camera) was out of stock. The camera was mounted and wired by the Skoda dealer, under warranty and with an invoice to prove it, but they didn't calibrate or configure it because, and I quote, "they don't do VCDS instalations, only original factory software ๐Ÿ˜ž . So I went to the guys that do retrofitting here (the company that sold the camera as in Poland) and had it calibrated and configured in about 25' The camera code is 1EA980556F or 5E3827566A The company selling it in Poland is here, https://www.carsystems.eu/skoda-octavia-nx-4-gen-rear-high-line-camera-kit-retrofit,id4054.html and the one in Romania posted here, IDK if they re-ship overseas https://m.olx.ro/d/oferta/camera-video-marsalier-high-originala-audi-q4-audi-a3-8y-octavia-mk4-IDgxyf0.html?reason=seller_listing|olx_shop_basic allegedly and most likely, the harware is sourced from the Czech Republic, and it would seem likely that it would less expensive, but I was too lazy to search. Beware, it is NOT an original camera, but close enough. The wiring it came with, on the other hand was full of VAG labels The model I found also has a washer hole or something, that is useless for me as I dont have a wiper in the back. So my advice is that you talk first to both the retrofit company - see if they have the software for the camera - and the delaer, to determine this action would not void the warranty.
  2. As described by the OP, it happened to me too. The first time this collision avoidance kicked in, was as I was squeezing / reversing slowly into a tight parking space. The car broke so suddenly, I thought I hit the vehicle behind me, so I got off to check the damage - although I was barely at crawling speed. I still had a few (2-4) cm? left between my bumper and the car behind. From my experience it activates when moving very slowly, like during a parking manoeuvre. Front sensors work too - once the car stopped dead in its tracks while I was trying to park too close to some innocent soft bushes - but the foliage was obviously detected as an obstacle.
  3. Hello Everyone, Now one full month and 3800 k since the update Except for the 2 (unusual) restarts when trying to zoom in on the map while 4+ hrs into a drive, I haven't had any other restart. Cannot tell in all fairness if the system is more responsive, as reported by other users here, but, overall, looks and feels stable Thanks again to the OP for this update (that unfortunately Skoda is unable to push consistently) It is a shame that nowadays it has become norm that software is released un-optimized and pooly tested, leaving it to us, consumers, to be the Guinea pigs and the "de facto" beta testers for the suppliers.
  4. Later edit Today I found out that the adblue injector cable had been attacked by rodents (in Greece) - hence the problem described above. As the cable seems to be attached to the injector, the whole assembly must be replaced, some 300 Euro, not counting the workmanship. And rodent attacks are not covered by warranty ๐Ÿ˜ž
  5. Hello all, I would like to share my unfortunate experience in regards to some adblue subsystem acting up. Story/sequence of events. - added some 3.5 lt of adblue to the tank, in preparation for a longer trip. (Min qty as shown on the dash was 2.75, max 8 lt) - waited 30' with the ignition on, engine off, for the adblue range to update, which it did, to 9000 km - didn't give it a second thought and drove the car the next week for some 1200 km - then, one day suddenly, the engine yellow light turned on in the dash + I got an error visible in the infotainment (car/vehicle section) saying - in white lettering, Error adblue (DEF) - the adblue logo had a spnner depocted under it. - i checked the user manual - everything pointed to my having to to visit a service and have the error checked. Mind you, I was vacationing away from.home, in Greece. Restaring the engine after an hour or driving around didn't clear the fault. - OK, so yesterday i started my journey back home - range on the adblue was 8000 km, when suddenly I get the warning - no start in 1000 km- with the update of the range to... 1000, of course. So I tried to see if maybe I can trick the tank sensor by topping up some more adblue. It said I could add some 6.5 lt so I put in 5 lt Engine of, ignition on for 5 painfull minutes. The error did not disappear, the range did not update (by now I was down to 950 km) but the refill qty indicator vanished *see first picture attached. - used my ODB11 to identify the fault, it was/is P2BAF00; could not clear the fault - it supposedly is a hardware issue, the adblue pump or injector - during the next day and a half, I drove back towards home, managed to cross the border with some 40 km range left. - didabled start/stop so that it doesn't "crash" at a stoplight and leave me powerless in the middle.of traffic. Now this might be important for those that encounter a similar problem and have a range issue. the engine doesn't cut out when the range reaches 0 The notification light turns red and stating the engine is disabled, but only if you first stop it * see second picture attached I managed to bring it closer to the desired service center, 20 km after the red ligjt turned on. Called Skoda while still on the road - they advised me to call back when the car is imobilized so that they can send a tow-truck, which they did. Now I waiting that tmrw the servcie will run a diagnostic and confirm that it is a defect covered by the warranty. Good luck to other owners out there, hope such an event doesn't spoil you vacation as it did mine.
  6. So hello everybody, An update from me for 1941 as promised, after 9 days and 2400 km travelled. So during this time and almost daily drives I unfortunatley still had 2 reboots. One when triyng to zoom in on the route via the infotainment (Google maps / AA) and another happened while I was calling the Skoda service hotline using the integrated call button (spanner symbol next to the overhead lamps) Both restarts happened waaaay into the trip, like 5-7 hours after starting the drive(s) No longer had any issues when connecting the phone right after starting the engine/trip, as it was happening before the update. In a nutshell, while still happening, the reboots only seemed to appear after/during long drives. Hope this heps.
  7. Same here, Got the car in the beginning of May with 18xx something software, had the 1900 version OTA pushed automatically within a couple of days after. Cannot say for sure if the restarts are connected to other services I downloaded those first days. I was "mildly" affected by restarts of the infotainment, ranging from none to 4-5 reboots a day, all apparently related to the AA or Carplay connectivity. Didnt notice any other trigger. Now I just installed the 1941 version (ty @varooom), following the plentiful info also provided by others (like sequence of operations, media support type, etc) Update went smooth, some 18 minutes altogether, plus the 4-5 minutes I waited at the end, afraid to press the "resume" button, that actually ends the process. It is too ealy to tell, I will get back in a week or so with more info on the post installment behavior. Cheers to all the contributors from this great community!
  8. Hello @varooom, I am also experiencing occasional reboots - so far apparently only after the phone connects. Version 1900 that downloaded OTA some 6 weels ago. I would appreciate you sharing the link to 194, please. Kind regards and thank you so much
  9. yes, me a couple of weeks ago. Total panic wouldnt sense approximatly 1/5 th of the screen, a vertical strip, starting from the left. A restart of the system by turning off the engine, closing the car and returning 15' later fixed the issue
  10. they also removed it from MY2023 - or from some of them - I had this included in the standard pack for the style variant but there is no cooling vent present in the glove-box. A friend of mine that got his Octavia in January, (also MY 2023, but built in 2022) has it, so there you are... ๐Ÿ˜ž
  11. Hello, First of all, you need to have paid for the online Skoda connect services. These come bundled with the Columbus unit (for one year at least) or as a separate add-on option for the Bolero unit. The annual subscription is around 30 EUR
  12. Actually I did get an OTA update to the infotainment system the day after I picked up the car - the system got upgraded to version 1900 just I was playing with the car and configuration in general in the parking lot. This was happening on May 6th
  13. I guess my reboots fall into the category of "random reboots". So far haven't happened more then 3 times in a day, and if I recall, most if not all, at the beginning of the journey shortly after the map/navigation services loaded and/or the phone connected wirelessly. BTW - this bug exposes a great potential feature for the VC depiction - higher dial transparency
  14. Problably there are different factors into play 1. Car was ordered after Jan/February 2022 It seems (based on other similar experiences from people I know directly) Skoda only confirms entry into production AFTER all components for the build are on stock I ordered the car in March 2022, had an initial (unconfirmed) build date w20/23, then w26/23, just to receive info that it entered production in February 2023. The car was ready for shipment by the 1st of March, when I got notified by the dealer, so I would say that, once approved for NEW production (not finishing of an older incomplete build), it shouldn't take more than 3-4 weeks; Shipment to ROU took another 18 days or so , the car was at the dealer by the 20th of March It also looks like the less extras - or at least, the closer the order is to the standard trim specs, the faster the build - as you can see we have fortunate owners getting their cars ordered this year under 5 months... 2. car is part of the horrendous backlog from the second half of 2021 (with order dates from that time) - standard ICE cars have delivery after some 14-15 months so (I have 2 acquaintances that ordered standard trims in September 21 and got the car in January and February this year, respectively) - electrified ones or cars that have a plethora of options have the longest delays
  15. I use both. (Carplay/AA) Unfortunately, I haven't paid attention. But Inwill do so this week. I will keep my Android phone with the wifi and BT off, so that only the Iphone can connect to the system. Let's see how that goes...
