  1. Well after a month I finally have a new second hand fuel pump in and it's working perfectly. Nice and silent. It's so nice to not hear that horrible whining when I start the car. The first one I ordered got lost in the post, brokers refused to refund me so I had to get my bank involved for a refund. (Specialist Dismantlers, Oldham) please never use them. This company had some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Lies and being fobbed off at every turn. The second one I ordered from a different brokers arrived with a broken outer case, so my mechanic and I had to disassemble the old unit and use the outer case from it on the new pump. (UKVechicleDismantlers - through eBay) Although the outer case was broken the customer service and packaging was very good. Hopefully this will help anyone else with a similar problem.

  3. I found this old thread which explains my issue quite well. Whirring noise starts when ticking over, can't hear much whilst driving, noise continues for a few seconds after engine is switched off. Comes from under the rear seat. I'm struggling to find a replacement pump for my car however. I believe its Oem No: 5Q0919088AM. Does anyone have a good source for second hand parts? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi folks, I have the same problem with my 2015 Octavia Scout 4x4 2.0 TDI. It's exactly as you described, whirring noise from under back seat when engine switches on, sounds carries on for a few seconds after switching engine off. It isn't noticeable when driving but it's driving me mad because I know it's not right. Seems the pump for this car is harder to get hold of and I can't find any second hand units at the moment. I've also had a garage suggest it might be the control unit for the pump that's the issue but I'm not convinced. Any suggestions on suppliers for the pump? I think it's model number 5Q0919088AM but i'll need to lift the back seat to double check that.
  5. Hi folks, I'm just trying to find the right tread to post on but I basically have an in-tank fuel pump that's creating more noise than I think it should. I can hear it whining away when idle and the frequency of the noise changes with revs. It would be good to hear if anyone else has similar issues or if it's a common noise that I should just ignore. Someone has suggested the control module for the fuel pump may be to blame. I had my dad's old Roomster before this and was very impressed with the performance and mpg 👍
  6. Hi folks, I got this beauty last week & i'm a big fan so far. Plenty of power & handles dirt roads with ease. I have a couple of niggles I'll be asking about shortly though, just trying to find the right thread to post to. 2015 Octavia Scout 4x4 2.0 TDI.

  8. Hi all. I've just bought a 2015 Octavia Scout 4x4 2.0 TDI. Love the car so far but there's a few niggles I'd like to iron out. Thanks for having me.
