Sorry, another thread from me about a topic that has almost certainly been discussed on here before (I did attempt a search, but the search on here seems to be a logic OR not a logic AND). My car is a 2014 Octavia III Elegance Wagon with a MIB1 Asmusen(?) headunit. I've found a reasonably priced MIB2 Columbus (display and DVD drive). Now my questions are: Do I need anything else for it to work? One thread on here had another little connector as part of a sale, I think it as referred to as a "CP"? I also saw that these units can be hacked. One thread I read talked about desoldering a chip. Is this required? What additional functionality will this give me? Can I use this with a reversing camera and will I need a kit like this? Will it do Android Auto? Thanks very much and sorry about all the silly questions!

I know this was posted months ago, but I actually read a thread over on XDA a while ago. Apparently the internal mic is on even if an external mic is connected, generally increasing noise and decreasing quality. However, you can either cut the cables or use tape on the flex cable to isolate the mic. They also recommended a directional microphone rather than a cheap and cheerful one.

I'm sorry, this question has probably been answered (I haven't read all 30 pages) but does the little screen on the dashboard lose any functionality if you get an Android unit? I'm guessing at the very least, the turn by turn navigation for GPS disappears? I did actually try searching for it but "screen" appeared in WAY too many posts (obvioulsy, in hindsight).

I'm looking at buying a 2014 110TDI Elegance wagon, but I've got a couple of questions: Is it possible to install a reversing camera with the existing head unit? Does it have Android Auto? Does it have automated emergency braking? I found some conflicting information on this. Some say it's only available with the tech pack, which this doesn't have. Are there any common problems that I should be aware of? Is the DSG going to cost me an arm and a leg? Supposedly it uses 4.9L/100km of diesel, what are realistic real world figures? How many km is too many for one of these? Is it possible to add some of the tech pack features if I find one at the wreckers? If you've made it this far, thanks very much, you're a champion!
