  1. Hi Steve, thanks for that info. I managed to get a switch but as the car is in scandinavia and this model was never available here, Autodoc was the cheapest (£ 3.80). I changed the oil & filter at the same time just to be safe. There was no sign of any crud in the housing. All tickety boo for now 😁 John
  2. Good to know, I will check it out. I was just looking into a second mortgage in case I had to go to Skoda 🤣
  3. Brilliant thanks again for that. I will try autodoc but failing that its off to skoda 😁

  5. while driving yesterday the "low oil pressure - stop engine immediately" warning came on. Stopped and checked the oil level, found to be perfect, no obvious leaks. Started back up no warning. finished the journey to town without incident. On the way back had 2 more warnings. Same thing no obvious signs and then ran perfectly the rest of the way home. Tried today, same thing warnings at random intervals. No obd code shown on diagnostic reader. I suspect its the oil pressure switch failing - any other thoughts? Anyone have the OEM number for the oil pressure switch? 2008 Fabia hatch 1.6 16v 77kw (105ps) BTS engine Whereabouts on the engine is the pressure switch located ? Any info much appreciated thanks

  10. Can someone let me know what the PR code or OEM number is for the front disks of my UK spec 2008 1.6 16v Fabia hatchback. I have looked at the PR codes listed on the sticker in the boot but none seem to match (Helpfully it only shows the back drums as 1KM). VIN is TMBDD65J783114016 Engine is BTS Tyres 205 x 45 R16 My local car parts store shows the following choice of disk diameters / PR codes 230mm 1KK, 1KT 239mm 1LB, 1LM 256mm 1LQ, 1LR, 1ZE, 1ZG 288mm 1LN, 1ZC, 1ZH Any suggestions to save taking one off to measure it? I have attached a picture of the PR sticker Thanks - John
  11. Hi Pete, it was exactly as you stated. The yellow wire to/from the sensor looked like it had been chopped in the cable bundle from the body to the door. I patched in a new piece, flushed the memory and hey presto no more fault code or airbag light. Today it passed its MOT. Many thanks 👍😁
  12. Thanks Pete, I previously had door lock problems with a fabia caused by the door loom wiring so I should have guessed. cheers
  13. my diagnostic gizmo shows DTC 01221 - side airbag sensor , drivers side. G179 open circuit / short to plus. I have checked the usual connectors & wiring under the seat etc for faults. Where is the impact sensor located? is it in the door or body? Any help gratefully will be much appreciated
  14. Many thanks for that Carlston. With those links to autodoc I should be able to get them from Autodoc.se 😁👍
  15. Hi there, I have my trusty old 16v fabia in Sweden at the moment but need to replace the back brake drums. No problem except that the 16v model was never imported into Sweden so does anyone have the oem number for the drums then I can get the equivalent (VAG) parts. Engine code is BTS first registered 20/10/2008 Many thanks
  16. Thanks, thought it was but better to check.
  17. Hi - I have a 2008 Fabia 2, 1.6 16v petrol. Does it have a timing belt or chain. If belt then what is the replacement mileage interval? Thanks
  18. Many thanks varoom I can get one ordered now 😁
  19. After doing some digging and finding it hard to get a new lock unit (OEM 3B2837015AP) I read on one supplier site that OEM 3B2837015AP seemed to have been superseded by 5J2837015. Does anyone know if this is the case? My 08 1.6 16V hatchback has the factory radio remote & central locking. As always any info will be gratefully received.
  20. Ah thanks I didn't think it would be that simple
  21. I have recently had the door open indicator show that the front nearside door is open all the time. I have looked at the various responses and am reasonably certain that it is the micro switch in the lock. My question is - can the switch be bypassed by linking the red & blue wires leading into the micro switch? Not a permanent fix I know.
