  1. Honestly, I have no idea what your getting at here ?
  2. No, it was a few months ago and the guy who did the MOT called me and flagged up a couple of things I needed to get done. Had the chat about needed now/ Vs needed soon . I know of a fact that when parts are needed the girl on the desk just phones the factors and says "rear brake Skoda 150" or along those lines. So I'm stuck with whatever the factor ships out unless I do some research.
  3. Hi Evolution. No, my independent garage flagged at the MOT that they needed done, i asked if it would be a fail and he said no but that they dont have much left in them. Im knocking up 600 miles a week or so and its been a few months so i wanted to get out ahead of it and have the parts instead of paying the ( understandable) mark up that any garage applies. My garage is happy for me to supply parts for all services and just charge me labour which is decent of them.
  4. Apologies team, i should have been more concise. My driving style, is far from exciting, think driving miss daisy while feeling smug at 70MPG. I am looking for an alternative brand that provides better value / quality and lifespan than the OEM Apologies
  5. Hi Skoda brothers and sisters. I have a MK3 Superb 2.0 Diesel 150 HP and have been advised to get new discs and pads by the garage. I usually source my own service materials so i know they are good quality, and i recall the OEM skoda discs and pads are not the best. Can anyone offer any suggestions for what brand/model would be a good switch out for the OEM? Thanks team
  6. Hi folks. I have been having a bit of a time of it with my bi xenon lights. The left hand side one started strobing, and after a bit of reading up I decided it was the bulb, took it to my helpful garage who checked and it turned out the ballast had failed. Bought new ballast , fitted, bulb works but slightly dimmer than the other bulb, and 1 week later the same lamp stops working. What are the chances that the sketchy ballast stressed my bulb and it was just a matter of time before it failed. Not looking forward to paying for the labour time again.....
  7. Sorry man, way above my knowledge level. Good luck!
  8. 63mpg over 18k miles including a couple of thousand with a roofbox on highland roads. Best I have had is 81mpg , that's lots of coasting down motorway hills and 62mph on the gas. Loving the superb life!
  9. This is what I was working off https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel3.php?emulate=roofbar&query=8320&vptype=598508
  10. No idea why the website was quoting two different fitment details for feet for the roofbars. My car has two holes on the door frame interior ( My Mondeo had one hole) . I suspect the facelift holes may be in a different location? Can upload pics if someone has a facelift to compare it to.
  11. Hi guys I am trying to purchase roof bars for my superb 3, and the fitment is different for the non facelift Vs the facelift model. My car is a 2019 superb 3 , but I can't work out if it's a facelift or not, any suggestions how I could work it out?
  12. Just a wee enquiry for my Skoda brothers. I own a 2019 superb sel executive 2.0 diesel manual. From looking at the service intervals it is suggested I change the timing belt at 50k, this seems outrageous given any other diesel I have owned is 100k . What are folks thoughts on this, anyone roll the dice and push on to 70 or 80? Cheers
  13. I think you can stop it doing the constant actuation by going through the settings on the infotainment screen, it worked for mine
  14. Thanks for the update. My warranty ran out two weeks ago so let's hope some wd40 fixes it !
  15. Was this sorted within the standard manufacturers warranty or did you have an extended one? . This is exactly what my car has started to do (locking/unlocking at 10mph over and over and passenger door never locking)
  16. From my understanding you either need to insert a SIM into the module in the glovebox, or literally connect a wlan cable.
  17. Do you mean that the 4000 point check I was promised by pinch was all a smokescreen! Consider me disappointed 😅
  18. To be honest I have just purchased a fuel, pollen, oil and air filter for her, the oil itself was the last piece of the puzzle. She has had 2 Skoda service visits and "allegedly" a service by bcm, given the wheels were welded on through oxidation between the alloy and the bolt mount I suspect the bcm service was non existent. Thanks for taking the time to reply guys
  19. Hello esteemed superb owners, i am looking for a bit of clarity around engine oil. I recently purchased my superb and the good people at a car firm that rhymes with pinch have advised me that they carried out an oil and filter change on my beautiful superb before they sold it to me. I have my suspicions that this may be hogwash and seeing as she deserves only the best treatment i am going to do another one, however..... Clarity on which oil to use is hard to come by and i am getting differing information. From what i have read historically these models would run on 5W30 FS III .....But that this changed in early 2019 to 0W 20 FS IV If anyone can help me understand the right way to go i would appreciate it greatly Thanks Midge
  20. Hi everyone I popped my Skoda cherry today and am now the proud owner of a 2019 superb sle executive in silver. I have spent the day playing with the infotainment system and hunting for hidden brollies and other joys. Looking forward to discovering loads more Midge
