  1. Took it up to a bloke in notts who's good with PD's. Turns out the original mechanic had snapped a nipple on the vacuum box thingy and that pipe went to the turbo. Part cost £30 from a breakers and then was decent. Bloke that fixed it sorted the cam belt tension or something when the vcds program showed it was ever so slightly lean then programmed a popcorn limiter in and remapped it. Drove the 80 miles home in good time with a huge grin on my face. Goes like stink compared to before. Good job he put the limiter in as I've hit it a few times since the weekend. First time I've driven a quick pd, always bought these for the economy. Mpg has gone up significantly in traffic too. Bonus
  2. Not fixed it came on again. Seems to be a sticky turbo. Turbo cleaner in the tank and trying to blast it out
  3. Ok, I'll give you a shout next week and set something up.
  4. Ok cool, I can't make Saturdays as I work do you do other days? What town are you in, I'm in Birmingham I think you're worcestershire from the op?
  5. Hi Pete, I've got a Skoda roomster scout on an 08 plate both windows do nothing most days. I'm not savvy with cars much so I'd struggle to pull the bits off. Do you by any chance do a repair service if I were to bring the car to you? If so what area are you? Cheers, Bru
  6. Hi Ross, I don't think I am able to send pms yet mate. Can you do a roomster scout 1.9tdi on an 08 plate mate? Cheers, Bru
  7. Fixed: boost pipe had come off they put that on and had to reset the management light which came on this morning and it's now driving like a good un. Thanks for chiming in guys.
  8. It's never been a fast car but even this morning fairly nippy. Boost pipes is a good shout, doesn't feel like there's any boost at all. Do the boost pipes come off when the belts are done then? Dumb question o guess but I'm not very mechanically minded.
  9. Thanks I'll keep hold of that and show it to them.
  10. Hi Gaz, I must admit I bought it as a stopgap but the bit of extra room and low mileage is proving a winner for me. I really like it. Cheers, GHO
  11. Hi folks, just picked my 1.9tdi up from the garage. Been in for a full service and cambelt/water pump/pulleys change. Drove it down the street seems ok but once I got to the main road and gave it some welly it seemed to hit a limiter and feels like there's no boost at all/ acceleration is being held back. I'm assuming this means the timing has been done right? I'll take it back in the morning of course but I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?
  12. Any recommendations for a good set buddy?
  13. Greetings, I've had several Skoda's over the years and currently run a roomster scout TDI 1.9. I love the car but it is a pain in the backside at times. Currently I've three issues I need to sort to make it worth keeping; the dreaded window failure has happened, the OEM stereo is absolute pants and needs replacing and it needs cruise control. I'm hoping briskoda will be able to point me in the direction of someone in the Birmingham area that can fix these for me. Also if anyone can suggest a reasonably priced double din head unit that works well with android phones please do drop me a message. All the best, GHO
