Hello.... I am new to briskoda and have only just seen this stream. I have a similar problem with a slight variation! Over the last few months the unit seems to have degraded. Sometimes slow to start, then maps stopped working and finally a black screen with a message swl initialisation in progress which then loops for ever and nothing else works. I was told that the hard drive was faulty so got it replaced. Tried the reset by using the 3keys and got message to insert cd which I tried but couldn't as dvd drive now locked!! It has now been suggested that the mother board is faulty but before I scrap the unit does anyone have any other suggestions? My unit is ...686N with dab etc...

Some delays in starting , then maps not working and finally the swl initialisation message. It was suggested that the hard drive was faulty so I had that changed but when I tried to insert the software disc I found the dvd drive locked so it wouldn't take the disc. It has now been suggested that the motherboard has failed but before I give in and scrap the unit does anyone have an idea how to confirm the problem? Any advice welcome.
