rns 510 columbus swl initialisation in progress

Hi guys and girls,

 

I got a L&K superb 2014 year. I seem to have a common problem with the RNS 510. IT was working fine since I bought the car two weeks ago. Now when I try to turn it on all it says is "swl initialisation in progress....pleas wait" 

What are the steps I should try to fix it? Thanks !

Probably needs a software reinstallation at a guess.

Thanks for the reply. I have a software update disk with the latest software, but it does nothing when I put it in. Is there a different disk I need?

scratched or daylight degraded disc?

dirty or dusty lens?

unit too cold so condensation forming on the lens?

Hello, I am new to briskoda and have only just seen this post. I have a similar problem .... For some months the system showed signs of failing. Some delays in starting , then maps not working and finally the swl initialisation message. It was suggested that the hard drive was faulty so I had that changed but when I tried to insert the software disc I found the dvd drive locked so it wouldn't take the disc. It has now been suggested that the motherboard has failed but before I give in and scrap the unit does anyone have an idea how to confirm the problem? 

 

Any advice welcome.
