  1. Hi all, a bit of a concerning issue that's hit me this week. The steering wheel had slight wobble cruising at 70 and when I let off the pedal it rapidly dropped to 50mph ish and the wobble got much worse and is louder and harsher as you go down through the gears. My colleague out it on his ramp and the brake caliper was seizing on, so we added some grease and the slowing down issue stopped. However... When I turned my car off it rattled noitceably from the engine bay area and we couldn't source the exact location but he thinks it's gearbox area. I drove home after this and the wobble is getting progressively worse, so much so I can hear the vanity lights plastic surround above me shaking, and the road noise became quite load with an almost intermittent thud thud thud thud thud thud but the noise was pretty dampened. I've already soaked loads of money into this car and I'm hoping it's not an expensive fix although it seems like it might be. Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance
  2. Do any of your doors cause an alarm to go off?
  3. Hi all, Thought I'd add both questions into one rather than multiple posts. First off, ever since having someone code my key back to the car, my lock button doesn't work 100% of the time but the unlock does? And since the man had sorted my key out whenever I unlock the car sometimes it'll randomly lock itself, and if the front passenger door is open it sets the alarm off? What could be the cause of this? And secondly, whoever had the car before me had the seat in the lowest position which I don't really like to drive in, but it won't go back up, it just cranks? Tia!
  4. Hi all, I had my suspension fitted the other day by my friend who's a certified mechanic and my colleague. I noticed when driving home a sort of juddering noise coming from the left rear or front almost like driving over those yellow lines that are meant to slow you down on the motorway. I went to kwikfit to get it checked out and they said that they were able to move passengers front spring as though it wasn't tightened properly? When I speak to my friend what will I need him to adjust?
  5. Still much appreciated, thankyou for the assistance!
  6. Okay, don't really understand but you do you.
  7. Perfect, thankyou dude
  8. So what style of pads will i need, the pagid ones I put up?
  9. Do you mean pads my man?
  10. So the pads that are currently fitted look like the pagid shape, and the GSF ones the drive tech shape. The part no is DBPPAD1601 for gsf
  11. New to me but cause its never been looked after properly as I'm discovering continuously as I work on the car, They look like genuine pads, I'll try send you a picture of the style I currently have, and the style they sent
  12. I think it was the shape, My mate was installing them but said the pads I'd been given were hooked at the side and my original ones arent so they wouldn't fit?
  13. Hi all, I recently bought rear and front brake pads from Gsf and they gave me the wrong fronts, they don't fit my year of car. I need to return them so wondered if anyone had a suggestion as to what discs and pads are good for daily driving? Thanks!
  14. Update on this topic: I fitted new top mounts, bilstein B4's all round, and lesjofors springs from auto doc all round last night. On some bumps that I'd feel very harshly on the way to work and my work entrance, I could barely feel them at all. Really comfortable now and super happy, so if anyone's after a comfortable ride, that's my suggested setup. I can't compare how it feels to complete stock because I've not experienced a car on regular setup.
  15. I'm currently in the long process of returning mine as close to stock as possible, it's got a map which I'll keep, egr delete etc but the previous owner did so much stupid stuff to it that im redoing. Gonna probably take a year or two to get it exactly where I want it but suspension is being sorted soon, and the front end is being returned to stock!
  16. Haha yeah you can bet Ive seen that. Don't understand it myself, I enjoy driving my vrs but I'd never drive to the point where myself, others or my car is in danger. The amount of front ended fabias that I see on some of the pages just shows that they keep getting sold to the wrong people. I hate that when I drive about people probably assume that I'm like that because the previous owner put a straight through big exhaust so now I just sound obnoxious.
  17. Hey! Yeah haha I spoke to you about them, I decided eventually to go with b4's and lesjofors springs! Springs arrive next week and I get my top mounts tomorrow, possibly next weekend I'll fit them?!
  18. After seeing some videos on skoda vrs forums on Facebook the chav wagon definitely springs to mind. Seeing some of the content makes me feel embarrassed to drive one.
  19. Well unfortunately the guy I bought mine off was one of those people. My aim is to bring it back and make it nice. Mechanically sound but body work needs some love.
  20. Hi all, I know this subject has been discussed a fair bit but I wanted to get a fresh opinion. My car is currently on £75 springs (previous owner) and dead shocks so the ride is super harsh. I want to have as comfortable a ride as I can get. I looked at other posts and couldn't find a solution. I have the option to buy a used b12 Pro-kit from a guy on Facebook for £250 OR on auto doc there's lesjofors springs, and sachs shocks for £280. Is there any other options for pure comfort or is the auto doc setup my best option? Thanks in advance

  22. I know this is from 4 years ago but if you're still active, I'm in St clears
