  1. Hello all. After surfing the forums for a while I’ve decided the best way to rid of my front and rear creak is to go for powerflex anti roll bar bushes. I’ve gone to order them and noticed there’s multiple sizes available. If anyone has fitted them or knows what size I need for a 2012 VRS Blackline hatch I would be very grateful! Many thanks!
  2. Hello everyone. I’ve had my Octavia just over a year now and ever since I’ve had it I’ve had a quiet creaking noise when the suspension decompresses then when the suspension compresses again. However recently over the winter it has got much louder and noticeable. To me this sounds like it’s a noise made by very dry and perished rubber. However I had a garage inspect my suspension and take the car out for a test drive and they heard nothing and said there’s slight wear to my suspension arm bushes but nothing of any concern. This noise for some reason is not there at all when it’s raining or there’s surface water on the road, it’s at its worst when it’s cold and dry conditions. I’d say the car rides a little harsh but I’ve never been in another Octavia to compare this to. All suspension components are standard parts so it hasn’t been lowered or played around with in any way. Sorry I forgot to add this is present in both front and rear of the car. if anyone has experienced something similar and could give me an idea on where to look it would be much appreciated. Thank you! Car is a mk2 vrs cr170 hatchback.
  3. Okay il try this Thank you. How far did you have to dig into the dash ? Did you remove glove box etc ? Or was it just the screws accessible by removing the side panel ? Also what size fibre washers please ? Thanks
  4. Hello all. Il start with the dash. I have a very prominent rattle coming from the left hand side of my dash between 750-100 rpm. Most noticeable when starting from cold and rpm is sat at around 900. Also noticeable when you dip the clutch to change down and when coming to a stop. When the rpm is at idle it’s no longer noticeable once the car has warmed up. I cannot hear it at all from outside the car. It’s definitely coming from the dashboard, I’ve removed the cover and tightened any torx screws which are accessible but this has not helped. has anyone had this and found a solution for it please ? now onto the boot😅 I’ve had this since day one since I picked up the car. When I’m driving it sounds like a budgie is trapped in the rear left of my car. Started off by removing everything I could from the boot spare wheel etc, didn’t cure it. My wedge buffers were pretty worn so put some new ones on, didn’t cure it. I’ve adjusted the plastic plates that the wedge buffers sit against, didn’t cure it. I’ve tried countless positions for the boot stoppers screwing them in and out at all different positions this helps to some extent. After shutting the boot I can drive for a while without a noise but after the boots been shut for a while it’ll come back, it’s almost like the boot is working it’s way loose. After adjusting these stoppers my boot will make an uncomfortably loud popping noise when pressing the release button to open it. The only other thing I can think of is to adjust the striker that the catch latches onto if that’s even possible ? It’s a long winded post but that’s the issues I’m having I’ve tried to explain it in as much detail as I can! All suggestions will be greatly appreciated as it’s very frustrating! Thanks!
  5. Funny enough this is the exactly what it was! It was something on my seat. I haven’t had chance to investigate yet, as soon as I lowered my seat it stopped. So I’m assuming it was leather on plastic? Now I have a bolt under my seat on the left that loves to creak 😅 doing my head in to be honest! Need to sort it.
  6. Hi all. Looking for some pointers on what this noise could be. This is most noticeable in first and second gear. When I let off the accelerator there’s this squeaking noise when the car leans forward after accelerating. Don’t notice it much at all in higher gears. The best way I can describe it is like leather rubbing together. When the car jerks and makes the noise I can feel it in the gear stick. I’ve put lubricant on all the rear seat fasteners not made any difference. You don’t hear it on the outside of the car only in the cabin. Has anyone had a similar noise and found a fix ? only other thing I can think is that one my front seats maybe a bit loose at the fixings. It’s a 2012 Tdi cr vrs blackline. appreciate any opinions and advice and I hope this makes sense 😂 Thank you!
