Loud creaking when going over bumps/speed bumps

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I’ve had my Octavia just over a year now and ever since I’ve had it I’ve had a quiet creaking noise when the suspension decompresses then when the suspension compresses again. However recently over the winter it has got much louder and noticeable. To me this sounds like it’s a noise made by very dry and perished rubber. However I had a garage inspect my suspension and take the car out for a test drive and they heard nothing and said there’s slight wear to my suspension arm bushes but nothing of any concern. This noise for some reason is not there at all when it’s raining or there’s surface water on the road, it’s at its worst when it’s cold and dry conditions. I’d say the car rides a little harsh but I’ve never been in another Octavia to compare this to. All suspension components are standard parts so it hasn’t been lowered or played around with in any way. Sorry I forgot to add this is present in both front and rear of the car.
if anyone has experienced something similar and could give me an idea on where to look it would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Car is a mk2 vrs cr170 hatchback.

Worth checking out front and rear anti roll bar drop links as these are cheap to replace.
