  1. Hi yes, after buying motors and replacing parts it turned out to be a wire in the door joint had become frayed and eventually split, ÂŖ75 later for something that took 2 minutes to fix and cost 5p !
  2. Anyone? The lights on the switch work when I put the main lights on so I know the switch is fine, just nothing working at all ☚ī¸
  3. Ok bought a new motor but that didn't work, in the meantime the passenger window was working fine (via drivers side button) but that stopped working on Friday.....so I bought a new ÂŖ5 switch off eBay which arrived today thinking that's bound to be the issue....but no that doesn't work đŸ˜ĸ Fuse is OK, wires all look ok and not loose....any ideas? Fearing it's a garage job now and after spending ÂŖ70 on nothing I want to avoid any extra further costs if at all possible.
  4. as above the motor is not turning, awaiting Petes response but I now firmly believe I need a new motor. In the meantime I've found the part number for the wing mirror switch #5JC959565, it never rains it pours :D
  5. Ok two things; 1. With regards to the motor I took it off and pressed the button with everything plugged it, it still makes that sound but the motor isn't turning at all. The sound it coming from inside the black casing area. 2. Upon wrestling the door cover off the Wing Mirrors connection point bust off and split apart, I've lost a little bawl-ball thing and now that's not working #facepalm
  6. cool thanks will try that in abit and report back
  7. Hi all, A few months ago my drivers window (electric, obvs!) kept forgetting the Automatic one press state, I had to keep resetting it every time I started the car. Now the window has completely stopped working and I can hear a ticking sound when depressing the window button. Having taken the door fascia off and located the motor (part # 6R0959802AN) I am ready to buy one from somewhere, but wanted to check that this is actually the motor that's died or if there's a potential fix for it, so does that detail above suggest that? I've checked wiring which all seems fine, fuses are ok, the fact I can hear the ticking sound suggests to me it's a faulty motor what with the previous automatic setting not working correctly either but would like confirmation please, thanks
  8. Sorted with the supplier, in the post.
  9. Hi all, I've got a Pioneer and just checking if this is the thing I need before purchasing. In the pics I take it the fascia in the link will sit in *behind* the clip in part on the front (removed second pic), is that correct? And then it'll all fit in snuggly? Thanks https://incartec.co.uk/product/Volkswagen-Seat-Skoda-Double-DIN-radio-fascia-adapter-panel-MATT-BLACK-50-714
  10. That's already in the rear wiper, could piggyback there as well but not sure about overloading if that would happen? No idea on that sorta stuff
  11. Ok thank you chaps for all the help it's much appreciated I managed to get it working normally so I'll just live with manually turning the radio on/off. Next job is making it fit snugly and finding/making a bigger fascia, don't fancy buying one incase they're not big enough!
  12. Thanks, Registered 24th May 2013 so right in the middle 😄.
  13. Nah that didn't change anything, stereo still comes on straight away even without key in the barrel. I've looked on the page below but it doesn't match what I see (I have asked there as well with pictures). I have 5 wires into the black section on the car but the converter only has 3...feels like I'm missing something I need. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/196288-oem-wiring-loom-colours-pins-for-stereos/
  14. sorry yeah been a long day! I'll have another look tomorrow I may of missed a setting on the stereo or something
  15. ok now after fitting it works but doesn't turn off with ignition, I've already had to piggyback a fuse for the Dashcam, do I need to do the same with the stereo? any one got any idea which ISO port I need to use for that? or an alternative solution? thanks
  16. Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but hoping someone could help me, as per the first post the Black Connectors are not the same on my Fabia mk2 see pics below. I figured the fatter Red wire was the Power but the two up top? orange with green strip and orange with brown strip, any ideas? thanks
  17. bought online but no matter I popped to Halfords and they helped me with the adapter I needed.
  18. Hi all, I've just bought a Fabia mk2 (2013) and the first thing I did was to buy a new stereo (Pioneer FH-S820DAB). I took the factory one out but then noticed that the plugs would not fit (pioneer leads in in picture below), I thought this stuff would be a simple plug in and go affair but apparently not. The Skodas plug does not fit the stereo, the stereos plugs are a different shape 😐 Do I need a separate adapter or something? Thanks
