Roomster blower motor problems
Hi All, I have a 2013 1.6tdi Roomster with standard air con. Recently most of the time the heater blower motor does not work but will occasionally. Also the interior/exterior air switch is intermittent but the air con does not come on at all. Fuses are OK. And suggestions/guidance as to how I can proceed with fault finding would be much appreciated. What is the best way to access the relays which I believe are near the fuse box - do I need to remove the fuse box for access? Kind regards, Andrew

OBD2 problem
Hi all, I used a new Artilink 500 scanner a couple of months ago without problems on my son's 2003 1.2 Fabia. Since then the engine management light has come on so yesterday I tried to scan the car with the same scanner. It enters the system with a green tick by ISO9141. The monitor status comes up but when I proceed it appears that the scanner is not connected to the vehicle's DLC. The ignition is on and the car is of course OBD compliant. Just in case it is relevant I should mention that since the previous use of this scanner on this car I have replaced the microswitch in the drivers door lock and connected the speaker in the passenger door which was unplugged. The car does have some problems with the central locking which sometimes activates itself. The scanner works perfectly on our 2013 Roomster. I suspect a problem with the car's OBD2 socket but I am no auto electrician. Any suggestions as to how I can get the scanner connected to the car would be much appreciated.

Roomster headlight bulbs replacing
Hi, We replaced the dipped beam bulbs on our 2013 Roomster with: Lucas Light Booster Black Edition H7 12V 55W +180% More Light From Eurocarparts for £14.99, now a bit less I think. The dipped beams are much better - we find the main beams to be OK with the standard bulbs. Fitting the drivers side bulb was bit of a challenge as on our 1.6 diesel the fuel filter made access very difficult and I ended up moving it to make life easier.

Roomster coolant change
Hi All, I have a 10 year old Roomster 1.6tdi. The cam belt and water pump were changed by the dealer before I bought it in June but I have just found out that they put the old coolant back in. I would now like to replace the coolant. Any advice on doing this myself without a vacuum unit would be appreciated. Is it important to drain the system with the heater on? Is it OK to drain only from the bottom of the radiator? Is I believe airlocks are difficult to get rid of so extra care is required. Any advice would be much appreciated,

Fabia 1 front wheel bearing kit
Hi All, I am about to replace the front wheel bearing on my Fabia 1 using the 72mm special tool/puller. The wheel bearing kit has arrived which includes a 73mm diameter plastic ring with shallow teeth on one side. I have watched videos of the job being done using the 72mm special tool/puller but there has been no mention of the plastic ring enclosed with my kit. Any ideas on what the plastic ring is for would be most appreciated.

Hello
Hi, I am a new Skoda Roomster owner based near Monmouth in South Wales and look forward to being part of the Briskoda community. Sadly our new car has problems and any advice would be much appreciated so that I can ensure the dealer, who is responsible for fixing the faults, does a proper job. We would like to keep the car rather than returning it for a refund. Faults are: 1/. Twice the car has failed to start. The drivers door mirror heater was permanently on - not on at the switch - fuse now removed. Even with a battery replacement both times the car would not start until it had been left for 24 hours with the battery disconnected. Any ideas on the non-start for 24 hrs or how the mirror is getting a permanent live feed? The dealer had an auto electrician fit repair looms to the door wiring in both doors after the first non start event and the first time the drivers door mirror was found to be permanently on. Using an OBD2 reader shows no faults. After the second non start the OBD2 reader would not connect to the car until after it had eventually started. 2/. There is a piggy back feed from the heater blower to the red wire in the passenger footwell. If disconnected the windows on the passenger side will not work. If a fuse is fitted for these windows in the fuse box the windows work. Why the piggy back feed? Any suggestions on the above would be much appreciated, Kind regards, Andrew
