Hi,

I am a new Skoda Roomster owner based near Monmouth in South Wales and look forward to being part of the Briskoda community.

Sadly our new car has problems and any advice would be much appreciated so that I can ensure the dealer, who is responsible for fixing the faults, does a proper job. We would like to keep the car rather than returning it for a refund.

Faults are:

1/. Twice the car has failed to start. The drivers door mirror heater was permanently on - not on at the switch - fuse now removed. Even with a battery replacement both times the car would not start until it had been left for 24 hours with the battery disconnected.

Any ideas on the non-start for 24 hrs or how the mirror is getting a permanent live feed? The dealer had an auto electrician fit repair looms to the door wiring in both doors after the first non start event and the first time the drivers door mirror was found to be permanently on.

Using an OBD2 reader shows no faults. After the second non start the OBD2 reader would not connect to the car until after it had eventually started.

2/. There is a piggy back feed from the heater blower to the red wire in the passenger footwell. If disconnected the windows on the passenger side will not work. If a fuse is fitted for these windows in the fuse box the windows work.  Why the piggy back feed?

Any suggestions on the above would be much appreciated,

Kind regards,

Andrew
