  1. No, an additional heating element to work up the engine prior to starting.
  2. I have had this on 2 vehicles to date, my Kodiaq cooling fans were running constantly due to a faulty fan relay. You could hear the fans running so it was obvious there was something wrong as they never switched off - flattened the battery. New relay - all fixed. The other was on a C-class Merc and was not visible/audible at all. The diesel (!!!) Mercs were fitted with a pre-heat element that, on ignition, would begin to warm the engine ahead of actual starting. Very useful if you park your C-class in the very cold parts of the world. My pre-heater had gone faulty, and so was running all the time - result was a flat a battery every night. Pre-heater was disconnected, all 'fixed'.... May give you food for thought?
  3. Hi, I have a 2017 2.0 DSG 7-seater and my air-con needs a leak test/re-gas. Any ideas which type of refrigerant it needs please? Thanks!!!!
  4. Eventually mine was traced to the crankshaft position sensor, replaced that, it's been perfect since.
  5. Hi, I've removed the glow plug today - part number as follows:- BorgWarner VW-AG 03L 905 061H E2520031965 I have ordered what I thought to be a suitable replacement from eBay, again a BorgWarner plug, with PSG007 on it (obviously not a VAG stamped part, ok). Having installed it, I've now got the EML light on, complaining about the pressure signal from cylinder 3. Any ideas please? Thanks, Mike.
  6. I sourced the 'special tool' from Temu, and managed to reset the DSG button so it was in the 'out' position. Refitted the knob and the surrounding trim panel too. Thanks for the advice and guides.
  7. Hi, thanks so much for this guide, very useful indeed! I've removed the gear knob, but the lock button is now depressed 'in', do you have the procedure to reset the lock button please? Thanks, Mike.
  8. I need to replace the shroud/switch unit that sits around my DSG gear selector, I've pulled the trim up so it's now sitting underneath the gear knob. So, any tips on how to remove the head of the gear knob so I can slip the shroud over it in order to replace it please? Thank you my lovely people. Mike. Kodiaq 2017 2.0 DSG
  9. I have exactly this on my 2017 2.0 diesel DSG. Currently in the garage VAG Technik in Eccles to try and resolve it.
  10. I have this too - all of the lights, but only some of the time! New battery and a new rear near-side speed sensor fitted (battery was past its best anyway) and still seeing the intermittent problem. I suspect it's the ABS ring as others described. One thing of note, is that my errors tend to pop-up immediately after starting - even before the car has moved.
  11. Good point! I should have photographed the lights that came on, I could be barking up the wrong tree!!!
  12. Hi, I've recently experienced a similar issue with my 2.0 diesel, and both I and my local mechanic suspect it could be linked to wheel speed sensors. Oddly, on a recent drive, I had multiple dashboard lights 'on' for a minute or two, notifying me of failures in around 5 or 6 systems from hill-start assist, auto-brake etc etc. Switched off, then on, and they've disappeared. I plan to get the car scanned next week to see if any faults have been recorded, then I may change the sensors anyway, cheap and simple to do.
  13. Time pressure meant that I had to get a local garage to remove it and heli-coil the exhaust manifold/cat. £90 labour, not a bad result. The original sensor thread was quite badly chewed up. Thanks to Breezy_Pete for his advice.
  14. Hi, Car is a 1.2 16V petrol. 2013 model, on 40,000 miles. I've attempted to remove the O2 sensor from the front manifold - access is good - after 2 turns with the socket the thread has stripped and the sensor is now spinning - it won't tighten and it wont slacken off. (I've since looked at numerous youtube videos on how the removal should have been done to minimise the chance of the this happening, so I'll know for next time!!!) Any tips on my next step as to how to remove it please? I can see around 2 threads of the sensor, so there is slight room underneath it - I was thinking to lever it up (to make it tight) whilst someone tries to undo it, but the gap is so small and I don't have a suitable 'spanner' to fit under there to give the leverage. Is heat my only answer? (Replacement manifold/cat is around £150 used, so not my preferred option). I have the new O2 sensor to be fitted. Thanks guys. Mike.
