  1. Hi, engine in my Roomster green line is completely different...there is nothing wrong with the engine, the question i put was that when Skoda did the remap, did they change the regeneration cycle as well? I have had my dpf professionally cleaned £370 and it's certainly driving a lot better..it regenerates regardless of my driving habits ( I bought car after Skoda remap ) it still regenerates same as before 3-4 times a week so I think we can assume something was altered on the remap regarding regeneration..my dpf is now squeaky clean but still regeneration as before ( when it was full of soot ) it's annoying and I need to change oil every 4k as the regeneration puts diesel into the oil - but I love my roomster and put up with this stuff as it's such a good car
  2. Hi, fed up with regular regeneration ( regardless of how i drive or how far I drive ) so I had a professional DPF clean, anyway it drove great for a few miles then regenerated hard a few times..so I drove car in third gear ( to keep revs up ) for half hour or so..car then drove great and still does! More power and smoother..car regenerated yesterday! So I drove it for half hour or so till regen stopped..what I dont understand is the DPF is now super clean and I haven't driven more than forty miles if that..so why the regeneration? I suspect when the roomster got the VW modification..it told the car the regenerate regardless of how I drive..as I have put 30k of miles on the car and the regens seem to follow a pattern? About two days a week regeneration...was worth the £370 to get DPF cleaned as car drives nice now...anyone else noticed this, that their roomster regenerates regardless of distance or how driven?
  3. Hi, my Roomster greenline is regenerating often ( too often ) a guy came over to change software back to how it was before the ' fix ' He told me it can't be done as DPF filter is breaking up and suggested mapping DPF out completely ( day in garage with modification to exhaust - 3x cost of software rollback ) thing is all I am getting is weekly regens and the dpf light doesn't come on in the dash and the car is lively and doesn't smoke? Does this sound like DPF failing? Just went to Suffolk from Sussex then came back and went to Southampton and came back next day with no problems apart from car regenerating day after lol Any opinions would be welcome as I'm not sure what to do. ( The DPF light has come on since I bought car..about three times and after a good drive it goes out again)
  4. So I need more oil changes too? Grrr lol..I'll look into this and hopefully someone local can roll it back ( Sussex ) thanks for the information.
  5. It was given the 'fix' before I bought car...full service history from main dealer and a lot of money spent on it by previous owner..it's a bit tatty but I really like the car but the regeneration is doing my head in..I was thinking if it went back to it's original setting it might regen less? It seems to make no difference how far or not I drive..came back from 200 mile motorway trip and car regenerated next day..sometimes twice a day! At least twice a week it regenerates, I try not to switch off car whilst regen is going...so I let it idle till it's finished..I could be wrong but I think it uses about a third of a gallon on a regen! So every week I'm using an extra gallon of fuel! And the economy is ok about 50 mpg average..but I read they were more frugal in their original setting? I love the car to be honest and I'll wear the extra diesel if I have to as I don't some mapper messing my car up! I have got used to the tall gearing and find it quite quick once you get into it's power band..the car carries my two Ebikes on its tow bar cycle carrier and its very spacious inside..I do hifi a bit and have hi res music on my phone and from phone into jack by handbrake into aux on radio the sound is very good indeed..I see a few Roomsters here in Hastings but havent seen another greenline Roomster..I bought some dpf cleaner but it didn't make any difference and I only use the premium Texaco diesel in my car.
  6. Hi, I have a 1.2 TDI Roomster and it's had the VW fix remap..I was wondering if I can get it back to how it was before the VW remap?
  7. Just found out that my Roomster 1.2 TDI had the Nox thingy done in 2017 I have no idea how it drove before? Heard they were sluggish? But my Roomster is quite quick..I was surprised.
  8. Mine going great..78k on the clock, looks like it's just run in then? Took it out early this morning and was surprised how willing the engine was! Not the least bit sluggish! Bought a tow bar bike carrier and off cycling today...quite like this car it's sort of fun to drive..my previous car wasn't a lot of fun in any department.
  9. Really helpful, thanks very much..
  10. I'm thinking of getting timing belt done and an oil change..unless it's already been done? I haven't looked at the documents yet..should i take the car to my local Skoda garage or will my local garage be ok?
  11. Only recall I noticed was something to do with a possible fuel leak I think..
  12. Hi, I have just bought this car (2014) I know it has a DPF fitted..my work is about four miles away through town then country road..every week I drive about 35 miles to go cycling..my average speed for the car is about 50mph on my 35 mile journey..will this be enough to keep DPF happy? I use Texaco premium diesel ( the car has done 70k ) Thanks, joe
