Jacking up the Yeti
A load of stuff on this topic but here's mine to add: The front and rear trolley jacking points on the Elegance are a little inboard from the welded seam and should be indicated by the triangles. As you can see the underseal has obviously been broken for some time but I've poked a polymer sealant into the missing bits (only the front left so far). This particular sealant is Soudal's "Fix All", very sticky and sets quickly and somewhat rubbery even if damp. (I just happened to have the clear version). Best not to use silicone type sealants here. I made a simple jacking block from hardwood with a scrap of aluminium on the jack side and a piece of 100mm x 38mm polypropylene chopping board on the top. The wood and plastic combination sits inboard of the seam and the clears the seam height, just fitting inside the plastic under-cladding. Adding a small piece of plastic about 15mm outboard of the block assists location. This does work for the rear although there is a little more jacking area. Get yourself a mirror, mine was a from bathroom medicine cabinet.

Front wing removal.
The "Elegant" has trim down the side of the windscreen and one securing nut for the upper (metal) part lug hides under here. If you can't remove the trim stop there. Remove the wheel. The wheel arch liner has a number of T25 torx screws some of which also hold the engine bottom cover. All the fixing screws for the upper require a 10mm spanner, flat, ring or socket. Remove both bits of foam polyurethane (one inside the wing) and the black moulding at the inside rear of the wing. This is fixed by 2 plastic washer-type spire nuts, (10mm also). Most of the screws came away easily except for the 2 holding the metal to the plastic at the front. A little oil in the threads helps all of them on reinsertion. Good luck and patience with that then.

Yeti bonnet latch switch.
Thank you, that's better, I can't think why I couldn't find it before, mostly other outfits trying to sell me the wrong manuals.

Yeti bonnet latch switch.
I don't have an original English manual, what I do have is a limited version, Czech to German to English. A number of things in the "2013" manual don't apply or are incorrect so "RTFM"is unhelpful.

Yeti bonnet latch switch.
2013 Elegance. After first purchase it always took at least 20 seconds before the washers and wipers functioned. In addition, stopping abruptly often parked the wipers mid-wipe. I thought this was a bonkers VAG firmware system but it turned out simply to be the bonnet latch inhibitor switch which prevents the washers and wipers when the bonnet is open. The cure was simply to unplug the connector, the inhibit is on when the switch is closed so there's no need for it at all. Cheaper than buying a new latch and switch.

Yeti Horn Push Button
The horn button on my '63 plate Elegance requires the strength of a gorilla to sound the horn. My thumbs are a little arthritic I admit and I rarely use the horn but a quick toot reminds a daydreaming pedestrian to wake up. Is this normal or has someone had the wheel centre cover off and reassembled it wrongly?

I missed this one at first but it was one of my complaints.

If you're a home-made wine expert, having won prizes as well, they will refuse to speak to you!

Your Yeti pet hate?
I'll quote me-self: The temperature today is 4 degrees and the "daylight" running lights stayed off. Is this magic or what? This particular Elegance was assembled during the changeover to the facelift version and seems to have bits of both models especially the navigation system. Was it the opportunity by Yeti to indulge in the odd modification thinking only I would notice?

They are heavy to remove, when folded up fully they can drop with a a startling crash when you take off in a hurry if there's nothing to restrain them The first time it happened to me I thought someone had run into me.

Daylight running lights of course. To stop them using the indicator/dip-switch, pull it towards you and then upwards. Hold it there and switch on the ignition, there should be an audible bleep and after that they only come on when you select the light switch.

I turned them off twice today and they persisted on coming back on after about 20 seconds but the reversing audible warning seems to have "indigestion" as well. I'm obliged to check the reversing lights too according to the Maxidot display. I'll start with battery connections perhaps and clean a few other terminals.

Your Yeti pet hate?
It being not far off freezing today, it seems the running lights come on automatically. It's not a complaint, just another discovery. I will reiterate the wiper delay problem. The full sun today is low in the sky and, with a smeary windscreen, it was tricky leaving a busy retailer's carpark with the wiper start delay. There will always be pedestrians wandering about. I must remember also to comment that the wipers this morning, when they did start, must have been slightly stuck as they released with a loud thud, not quite a bang. They are Bosch blades but of uncertain vintage

The windscreen auto-wipe, a popular complaint No guide light near, or around, the ignition key, my old Freelander had this, very helpful on a dark night.
