Haunted Roomster
Hello again, I haven't got round to fitting the new brake light switch yet, something more pressing has turned up. Though fine yesterday, today I've no brake lights and the fob activated central locking stopped working. The car locked me out, or rather, refused to open this afternoon. Coincidence or not? Where would I start? New thread? Cheers

Reverse switch faulty?
Hi, thanks for the link. I'm still going to have to hunt for access to the switch and its wiring. The problems I'm having at the moment may be coming from a faulty/wrong brake pedal switch. When I get round to replacing it, I may well end up having to at least test the reverse light switch. See my thread 'Haunted Roomster' for further info. Cheers

Reverse switch faulty?
Hi, I've had a very similar issue with my 1.9tdi Roomster and am wondering how you get to the reverse switch and wiring. Is it from underneath the car or what? Any insights? Did you get your problem fixed? Cheers

Hi, really, no rear seatbelts apart from the ceiling mounted one? Are the inertia reel bits not there behind some paneling in the bootspace? Tricky to get at, I know. Would definitely get them replaced but maybe not with cheapo bits. A specialist tool might be required to remove the old/damaged seatbelts if they're still there. A triple square socket of the appropriate size comes to mind if what I've been reading recently applies here. Cheers.

Haunted Roomster
Hi All, I'm currently looking for a suitable replacement brake pedal switch (see my previous post) and looking at this forums handy parts guide; "New non adjustable brake light switch,6Q0 945 511. Some seam to think it only comes in green but mine is black but it does have a white tip on the plunger." So...there's an adjustable one? Can anyone tell me if this part is suitable for my 2007 Roomster 3, 1.9 TDI. BSW. Apart from the obvious answer, what's the difference between adjustable and non adjustable? Why would it need to be adjustable? What's adjustable about it? I've registered myself on ErWin Skoda intending to download wiring diagrammes and parts info, but before I commit to buying some time there, does anyone have any helpful hints regards fitting a new switch, either flavour. In it's present condition that unidentified switch pictured previously at least operates the brake lights. As for the reversing lights, I've jury rigged a toggle switch and lamp so I can temporarily get by with that! @Breezy_Pete Thanks again for putting me on to the Gendan cable and VCDS(lite). No doubt I'll have more daft questions after I get to use it more. I've not reset any of the DTC's it showed me yet, Not until I gain a better undestanding of what they mean. Managed to do an autoscan after modifying the AutoScan.txt file. It might be of use to others here. AutoScan.txtDTC-01.txt Cheers

Haunted Roomster
Hi All, I'm back again with a couple of questions. If I'm posting in the wrong place please forgive me and maybe a moderator could put it where it shoult be, thanks. On closer examination, my Roomster brake pedal switch has been relpaced with an obviously "wrong" part. The wrong switch in question has only two terminals, spliced into two wires on the original 4 terminal connector. Could anyone tell me the original part number for a pukka brake pedal switch, and maybe point my to an idiot's guide to fitting it. Cheers.

Thanks All, Cheers for the towbar plug info @Warrior193, turms out the cables leading to them have been snipped. No connection to the sockets. I'll be examining the wiring in greater detail as soon as poss, looking for shorts etc. with a view to completely removing it. Don't need a towbar anyway🙂 Looking into that, thanks @Breezy_Pete.

Thanks for your words of reassurance @Breezy_Pete. Trying not to panic😬 I wont be able to look at the car again until the weekend, but I can confirm that there are two towbar outlets, both 7-pin mounted one above the other. (Upper one's got a black cover, the lower white if that's relevant) I'll try to trace the wiring soon. You mention VCDS (lite). Could you maybe recommend a suitable interface that won't break the bank? I'd like to see what's going on, error code-wise. I tried using an ELM 37 Bluetooth adapter with Torque Lite app that i used to use with a previous car (vauxhall astra '03) but unsurprisingly read no fault codes. Cheers again

Hi, managed to give the car a better, but still not exhaustive look at yesterday. Horror story! No reversing bulbs....removed by the previous owner to disguise the fact that when the brakes are pressed, the reverse lights come on. As you said , the car thinks it's in reverse when braking. Havn't checked for reverse lights on selection of reverse gear yet. Reverse parking aid pops up briefly first time brakes are pressed, I've switched that off now though. Glowplug warning lamp flashing continuously. Actually obscured by black tape or similar behind the clocks. Just visible in the dark. I've not investigated further yet but I'm wondering what else has been tampered with. Did I mention there's a towbar? I'm not looking forward to inspecting that wiring. Ever get that sinking feeling? Cheers

Thanks, I'll check later and get back to you, it's getting a bit cold and dark here. Like I said earlier, there are several other issues but I'll get round to describing them properly as I find them. I haven't had the car long. Cheers

Hi, thanks for the reply. It happens moving or not. Also, if the wipers are on, braking, in motion or stationary, activates the rear wiper. Cheers

Hello Everyone. This is the first of probably many queries I have about my 2007 Roomster 3 1.9 Tdi. So one at a time. here goes. The internal blower fan speeds up when the brake padel is pressed. Any insights, anybody? Cheers.

Hello Everybody
Hello everybody. I recently acquired a Skoda Roomster 3 1.9Tdi. Everything seemed fine with it until i started to notice some odd behaviours. So I've joined this forum to try and find out if I can address some of the car's faults, or cut my losses now and scrap the vehicle. I look forward to members' insights and you'll no doubt see my increasingly frustrated posts popping up all over the place. I apologise to you all in advance for any daft questions. Cheers
