Thanks. I expect the local Škoda dealer will simply change the oil and shrug at any additional work. My experience of most main dealers is they are only capable of following a script and not going off piste with anything more complex than that.

Does anyone know when the AWD system in the 280 4x4 needs its first service? My car is on 21k miles and coming up to 2yrs old. No info in the owners manual I can find on it. Supplying dealer in Scotland sent me an email saying it’s due (I’m in Somerset so won’t travel to them…). However my last car - Passat alltrack - had a similar system and I think wasn’t serviced until 40k miles.

Nope. It’s the bottom of the steering wheel and doesn’t really get any ‘traffic’ as it were. Just seems to have flaked off without much interference.

I’ve got a ‘23 Superb L&K 280 estate which we bought new and in general are very pleased with. The only let down (aside from the rear wiper being a pain to replace) is some of the interior materials aren’t really up to scratch. I guess you don’t buy a Skoda because you expect Audi levels of perceived quality, but stuff like flaking chrome effect trim after 18k miles isn’t really good enough. According to Skoda its wear and tear, but I don’t buy that - parts should be good for more than 18 months and 20k miles before they start to delaminate. The performance, space and equipment does kind of make up for some naff materials, so, first world problems really. Anyone else have similar experience with flaky interior trim?

Ok fair enough, thanks. I was just a little surprised as its an unusual viscosity (IMO) and last time they put 5w30 in it. 19k miles on it.

My 73 plate Superb 280 just had its second service with ŠKODA main dealer under its service plan and I was surprised to see they put 0W20 LongLife oil in. I thought these took 5-30?

There is one small abrasion to one wheel which is pictured below - but otherwise they are not marked.

From my November 2023 Superb L&K. Less than 3k miles on these - with Continental Ecocontact 6 tyres. I’ve swapped to a set of 19 inch wheels, so these are surplus to requirements. £975 plus shipping. Or collection from near Frome, BA13.

How do you know if you’ve got the webasto parking heater? Is it a trim level thing which is standard above a certain level?

I don’t think there’s a huge number of L&K 280s left in stock. Bought mine a month ago (and drove 450 miles to Perth from Somerset). Mine was the basic (if you can call an L&K that), spec with just metallic and travel/ park assist. Would’ve loved pan roof and 19 inch wheels as well as folding towbar but the deal on the stock car was too good to ignore. Have since purchased brand new 19 inch Škoda rims for it so that addresses the aesthetic issue. Good luck with finding yours - I see another member has DM’d so presumably you have the spec. Failing that I have a spec list which came with mine I can take a pic of and send you.

I’ve so far only being using the Apple CarPlay navigation / Waze / Google Maps on mine rather than factory satnav - so can’t comment as yet.

I’ve secured a set of new 19 inch Vega wheels for it, so the 18 inch Propus Aero with Continental Sport Contact 6 tyres will be up for sale. All virtually new from an ‘73 plate L&K and have done less than 1200 miles - these may be of use if you want a spare set or winter wheels and can use a set of nearly new tyres. I can’t post in the for sale section, so hope it’s ok to mention it here. I expect they will go on eBay once new ones fitted. Wheels identical to those pictured.

Suspected so - bit rubbish on an L&K which has so many bells and whistles but hardly the end of the world. Rest of the car is fab.

To the other chap with a new L&K - did yours come with a first aid kit in the boot? Mine didn’t and wondering whether that’s normal or not.

My L&K had the same - crap cardboard folder, one brolly and ice scraper. I’ve since got another brolly for the passenger door from eBay.

Not sure what version it’s on - the car is only 3 weeks old so presume it’s quite up to date.

Hi all have a ‘73 Superb L&K and it’s great. However every time I get in the car the CarPlay connects automatically and then disconnects a few seconds later - I then have to manually reconnect. It’s driving me round the bend (first world problems I know). Am I doing something wrong or is it a quirk of the Skoda infotainment system? TIA

I just got a good deal on one of the last stock L&K ones, so it was worth the slightly gruelling trip. Good chance to get to know the various safety systems like lane assist on the way back too. The colour to my eyes is quite green in the right light, looks great.

I do like the colour; ‘petrol blue’ it’s called. Hell of a distance yes. Not noticed the wind noise I have to say. Might have something to do with the Canton sound system having been put through its paces .

Be interested to know if anyone has any recent experience of Turners of Erlestoke as they are nearest to me and I need somewhere to look after my Superb 280 which is under warranty / service plan.
