  1. How would I do this please?
  2. Therefore back to my original question: Is there a way of telling from the VIN or do I just have to ask a dealer to check?
  3. OK thanks. I'll not waste time worrying about that then.
  4. I've read of an €80 option on these forums that only the dealer can activate.....
  5. My better half has a 2022 Scala with the Bolero infotainment (sw 1760). We've been using Android Auto via a dongle but this has become very flakey of late. How can I tell if the car has an (unactivated) AA wireless capability such that I could pay a dealer to activate it? TFYH
  6. Actually it's not that easy to just buy another Octavia PHEV 'cause there aren't so many of them about. Don't know the reason for only 2 services nor the actual history yet as haven't seen car (which is being sold by Carsa). Was meant to test drive it today but they've just rung to say they haven't got it to my local branch yet so will look elsewhere in the meantime. Thanks for the helpful replies.
  7. So annual oil change isn't that important then? I ask only because various threads here have very much said that it is.
  8. 41k so slightly above average these days I suppose for a 4 year old
  9. As per the title I am going to look at a 2022 PHEV estate that says it has had only 2 services, last about 3 weeks ago. From reading on here people seem to say that an annual oil change is important for PHEV vehicles so I was wondering how a lack of one might manifest itself and what I should potentially look out for. TFYH
  10. Interesting video even though it did rather morph into a Mobil advert in the later stages.
  11. Had a MkIII manual Octy estate for 14 months and like the car but need to change to an auto. As part of that am considering going the PHEV route as 90% of my trips are <30 miles. Would appreciate any views/experience on insurance/servicing costs and reliability vs petrol car please. TFYH
  12. Has anyone tried fuse 56, 58 or 59 for dashcam? The piggyback kit I bought won't fit into 43 as the fuse bit isn't long enough to reach. The larger fuse looks like it will reach the larger ones which are for manual air con, windscreen washer and exterior mirror heating respectively.
  13. As I only became a Skoda driver quite recently I have no annual premium with which to compare so was wondering how much extra it was for people who've alreadty gone this route.
  14. Quick query about Revo remap - does it make a big difference to insurance premium? TFYH
  15. OK something I wasn't expecting is that I can no longer see the speed (or anything else of the former options) in my maxi-dot display. This simply duisplays the name of my phone and Sim1. If I use the thumbwheel which used to change that display it simpy scrolls down a list of phone contacts. I can't find out if this is an option or whether I'm stuck without the previous speed, drive-to-empty etc that I found very useful Please pardon my ignorance if this is something obvious...
  16. Can't provide a useful link I'm afraid as it was a guy selling an 'opened never used' one who accepted my Best Offer The model number is Z1A. This (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126223630603 ) is the auction if it helps. Not tried speech yet (I'm new to AA so not sure how it all works) but will report back when I have.
  17. Just to round this off I picked up a 'Chinese one' off eBay for < £24 and it is so far working perfectly to give me wireless access. It is called 'AA box' and is simply a small white box that plugs into the AA slot and sits happily out the way in the car. Thanks all for your help - much appreciated.
  18. Yes that looks similar to the eBay ones I mentioned. Thanks for the info re the USB slot - will see how I feel when Amazon gets stock of the AA one.
  19. incidentally 1 or 2 reviews on Amazon (where not in stock at present) suggest it needs to be unplugged to stop battery wear. Does that mean the USB AA slot is permanently live?
  20. Looks very interesting thanks but at £60 I'll stick with the cable for now at least! Having said that there are the usual cheaper Eastern knock-offs on eBay....
  21. Turning the sound up whilst nav instructions speaking solved the issue. Still not wild about having to use a cable rather than wireless but at least it does what I want. thanks all for your help
  22. Thanks guys - will try tomorrow and report back.
  23. OK I now have a cable that works for Android auto and have just tried it but when i play the test sound from google maps the instruction is inaudible (although it does correctly interrupt the radio). I've tried turning phone volume up and made sure nothing is muted but to no avail so I'm guessing i have something wrong somewhere. Grateful for any help but will pursue in daylight tomorrow otherwise. TFYH
