Hi, I hardwired my new Viofo A139 dashcam, with the yellow ACC cable going to the fuse for the electric windows left side, which only works when the ignition is on. The camera remains on all the time unless I manually shut it down. Any ideas?

It appears that is normal for the dashcam to remain on as I have 'Parking Mode' enabled.

Just following on, it appears all of the full size fuses are permanent live. What size are the others because none of the piggybacks I have will fit?

hi the fuse skoda dealers have used on my scala and wifes kamiq for the hard wired ignition controlled dash cam power is the small blue fuse for the air bag. there are two sizes of fuse both readily available as piggybacks

I would be wary removing airbag fuse to fit piggyback, as it could lead to airbag warning light on dash that requires dealer to reset.

In all the Skoda cars I’ve had I’ve used the well recommended on here, rear wiper fuse as a ignition controlled supply for dash cam.

Agree - I hardwired my Next Nextbase dashcam last week and used the rear wiper fuse 43.

Is it only dealers that can reset the airbag warning or can it be done with ordinary obd?

Yes, managed to pull wrong fuse

Yes, managed to pull wrong fuse

I generated an airbag warning because I switched the ignition on to test the dashcam but I had the passenger airbag plug disconnected at the time. I cleared the warning light with OBD - full scan scan, fix fault. You may well be able to scan just the airbag module to save time.

Quick trip to my local mechanic, good bloke. Took him about 27 seconds to remove the fault. And as I use him for several cars, gratis too.

All sorted

Has anyone tried fuse 56, 58 or 59 for dashcam?

The piggyback kit I bought won't fit into 43 as the fuse bit isn't long enough to reach.

The larger fuse looks like it will reach the larger ones which are for manual air con, windscreen washer and exterior mirror heating respectively.

Hi

So I understood from the previous replies that I should use fuse 43, the rear wiper for the ignition switched connection.

But which one could I safely use as permanent live?

Thanks
