Exhaust gas getting into the coolant
Thank you @SwallownAmazon this is the push I needed. I did report the faulty within the 30 day period. There are a few other issues with this dealership. I was given a courtesy car when I left mine in for repair. I did a quick car check on the courtesy car when I got home to find it was untaxed with no MOT! I'd driven it 48 miles home. When I told them it was untaxed they said they had taxed it just before I drove it home. This was a blatant lie. It appears they did nothing to repair my car, in fact they had been using it. There was personal items left in it and the sunroof had been opened because the screen was still back. There was very little fuel left and it had done over 50 miles more than when I left it. I should have known they were dodgy. I contacted Citizens Advice and they've given me information on how to reject this car to get a full refund. Again thank you for your advice. I needed that push.

Exhaust gas getting into the coolant
Hi, I've recently sold my MK2 and bought a MK3. I'm having issues with the exhaust gas getting into the coolant. I need to find out what is causing this. Is it likely to be the EGR or something more serious like a blown head gasket or a crack in the block? I've only had this car for 5 weeks so am looking to approach the dealer I bought it from. They only gave a 30 day warranty. They already had it in for a week and were supposed to repair this but they haven't done it.

Chrome for upper window
Hi, I am in the process of buying an Octavia L&K estate 2016. It is missing the chrome trim on the nearside back window. The garage is searching for a replacement, but they can't find it yet. Any ideas where I could get that? Thanks

Octavia VRS TDI won't start - STOP Oil Pressure error
Hi I'm new here. I have exactly the same problem with my Octavia Tdi. I was worried to continue cranking after the beep and oil light coming on. I'm not sure I want to try that but I have to do something. Has that solved your problem now?

2008 Octavia Tdi estate not starting
My Octavia has not wanted to start up. The battery is good but it won’t fire. If I held the key to turn the engine for longer than a few turns it beeped at me and the red oil light came on. I called out my rescue who said it was air in the fuel pipe. He opened the, I think it was the air intake pipe (the large pipe that runs across the back of the engine compartment) and sprayed brake cleaner in to it. It started okay after that. He said it was nothing wrong or needing repair and that it probably won’t happen again. My rescue text me to tell me if I call them out again for the same problem within 28 days they would have to charge me. Three weeks on and it’s dong the same thing so I don’t want to call them just yet but wonder if that was really the problem. The car has 101,400 miles on the clock and has never let me down until now. The weather here today before noon was -5 C so very cold. I am thinking it’s the glow plugs bit have since red on here about the start/stop batteries. When I bought a new battery last year I was told the start/stop would be good especially over the winter. On another thread on here I read they are not suitable, so could this have added to the problem? Regards Marski

Hello
I have just joined Briskoda. I thought I had already joined some time ago but it appears not. I own an Octavia MKII Tdi 2008 estate L&K. I love my car and before this I owned a Fabia. I wanted the estate so it would accommodate my dog. I will post a question in the appropriate thread, Pleased to meet you all 😀
