  1. Decided it was time to do something about the minuscule shifters on my 280. Leyo Motorsport. Hoped they would be good but they have far exceeded my expectations. Fit, finish, feel, sound. Highly recommended.
  2. I’m almost certain that the valves remain open when using the car in sport mode. The difference is slight but discernible. If you stand outside the car and have someone change the modes you can hear it. Gearbox needs to be in sport for it to work in individual.
  3. Thanks. The quote is from DH Automotive. They were very professional and got back to me the same day. It seems to be Racingline software that they use. I also contacted ecotune but not heard back yet. From first impressions and what I read online, I’ll be going to DH.
  4. Just over £1k for stage 1 ecu and tcu package. Includes health check and rolling road run. Seems fair.
  5. I’ve got a Racingline dealer near me and got a quote today.
  6. Perfect have your cake and eat it car! Yep, my kids love it too. Son for the performance, Golf R underpinnings and rarity. Daughter for the heated seats, LED pack and surround sound movies!
  7. Wow! That’s going to shift. I assume you’ve mapped the DSG to cope with the torque? Yes they are amazing cars. The combination of build quality, space, comfort, kit and performance is unbeatable for anywhere near the money. I’m guessing you would need to go to an S6 to tick most of that off (albeit with greater stock performance) but I wouldn’t swap the stealthy good looks of this for one. I’ve always been car daft, had various performance cars and been fortunate to drive all variety of things - there isn’t really a car that’s making me jealous right now or ticks the boxes that this does for me.
  8. Very interested in getting mine done. Going down the rabbit hole of threads and options. Don’t want to to do any supporting mods, with the exception of a potential DSG map to compliment it.
  9. Thanks! Given there are only circa 600 sport lines, I can’t imagine there are more than a couple of hundred estates with DCC.
  10. Hi folks, New owner here. 2017 280 Sportline. DCC, Canton and a few other bits and bobs. Absolutely love it and as a bonus, the family do too. They really are such a capable all rounder. Feels special too. Been lurking about over the last month, gathering some info and asking questions prior to viewing. Great forum and some lovely cars.
  11. Found some Golf R owners discussing. The VAG monitor includes atmospheric - I was confused to how I was seeing it as high as 2.1 bar. Once adjusted that’s 1.1 bar / 16 psi which seems about right for stock.
  12. Hi guys, Playing about with the performance monitor. What peak boost are you seeing in a stock 280?
  13. Great guys. Thanks very much. Will check that out and keep an eye.
  14. Hi folks, New to the forum so apologies if this has been asked before. My 280 had an advisory for low coolant at its service. It’s done 70k and not had the water pump replaced. I know that’s a fairly common issue, is this a potential sign mine is on the way out? Is there any other ways of checking? Thanks for your help.
