Cheers, it intermittently sounds like an old diesel. That’s the part that is baffling me. If it was the chain it should be constant and wouldn’t purr once I slip it into Sport and raise the revs.

You really are ‘Awesam’. Thank you - hopefully it won’t need the chain replaced. Having said that there is K86 miles on the clock.

That’s what I thought also. I think it is related to the VVT. They have quoted over £3000 to replace the chain

Hi, My 17 plate Superb TSI was idling roughly. I brought it to a garage who were initially going to change the timing chain but I asked them to explore all other possibilities first. They have cleaned all the ports and the VVT and have said that if the rough idling returns then it points to a stretched timing chain. They said that it cost mould cost over £3000 to replace it because the cams also have to be replaced. Does this sound right? I might get rid of it if that is the case!

Hi, My Superb TSI is due to go into the garage on Monday because of a very lumpy tick over which sometimes cuts out. It throws up a P0011 code occasionally. The garage think it’s a stretched timing chain but my concern before handing over circa £1000 is that it is intermittent. Sometimes it purred like a kitten. Surely if it is a timing chain issue it would constantly be rough on idle. Any thoughts most welcome please!

Hi all, I need some Sat Nav help please. I have just bought the car and the current map is a 2017 one. There are no SD cards in the slots. The Skoda site gave me an update compressed folder with MIB 1 and MIB 2 on it. I downloaded and extracted them to an SD card and tried to upload to my car but just keep getting an error message. I asked an eBay seller about a card he was selling but when I sent my VIM to him he said it’s not updated by SD card. Hugely confused!

Hi, Brand new member, I am picking up my Superb Estate 2016 on Sunday. I had a look at it today and noticed that the tailgate does not open with the key fob. should it open with the fob or is old school where I push the tailgate button?
