Hi chaps and gals iam after a fmic for my mk1 octy ive seen them on flea bay for as little as 2-300 quid but are they any good if anyone is getting rid of one drop me a line thanks shaun

hiya all.. picked the car up today and the 'guy' said that after it being scanned cleared and road tested twice there were still too many different faults coming up for it to be all of those sensors etc and suggested a possible wiring fault on closer inspection he said there were 5 major bad connections 2 bad ones under the battery due to corrosion and on near/at the ecu he had cleaned them all up and tidied them up and cleared the faults..again and road tested the car and do i dare say it... all seems good and the car seems to have come alive again and healthier too ! he has also 'set' the throttle body so will have to just go from here and see how she goes for a while ! also the cd multi changer packed up too and its working again when i picked it back up so who knows the list goes on lol !! does all this sound plausable to you guys...??????

will get back you tomoz i have left the car at a garage for the night (the paper work is in it) he has spent 3 expensive !! hours 'looking' at it today so will see what he says tomoz..?? xx

I will try and get some but ay ideas or guesses to what it might be , when i take it back every time it comes up something different and not always the same code ?????

Hi guys, i am in of some help with my octy its dying and i dont know why !!.. here we go.. It first started when i put v power in it last september esp and the traction control lights came on started missing and lost the brakes took it to skoda they cleared the faults and it ran ok ok for a week then did the same again but it was on my 'normal' fuel not v power, took it to a local turbo speacalist cleaned the throttle body and maf and cleared faults again, ok for about 4 weeks and yes did it again other half has changed the coil packs and then the fuse box on top of battery melts so replaced that too ! but it still plays up its getting more often now every week or so its running crap, missing and sounds like someone is trying to escape from under the bonnet ! took it to the garage....again crank sensor came up along with about 6 others he cleared it 3 days later it died again took it back today and its came up several other faults differant faults every time he rang back and said it could be a wiring fault ..??? i have given up with skoda they would have me replace everything on it yes the rate im going i will have lol will give you a list of codes when i fetch the piece of crap back from the garage tomoz after 3 expensive hours of him looking at it !!!

thats exactly when it started i always use tescos fuel but they had a tanker in and only 4 pumps working so i went to shell and my problems started there after i have had the car scanned to day and it is coming up code ' 17579 - throttle actuator potenometer sign 2 any one know what this is ?? xxsadielouxx:P

so that means we are possibly looking at maybe 2 things then ; fuel pick up (sediment in tank causing blockage) or fuel pump as apposed to anything ecu/sensor based the coils etc skoda have seemed pretty useless now compared to you guys offering these suggestions they have never even so much as floated over these possibilties xxsadielouxx so what would you try first now then ??:P

so your suggesting what sorry ??? ..xx :P i understood the take it to a 'normal garage bit' lol x

Thanx guys will throw that idea at skoda tomoz who never seem to actaually offer any 'real' suggestions just hope it is something as simple as that. someone has suggested the egr valve ??? coils (ive replaced) and plugs ?? whats yr thoughts on those ? xx:P

hi the car smashed up in my pic is my old one that i wrote off ooppss ! the one i have now i a black magic 52 plate is there anyway of draining the tank to clear/clean it ?? or actually finding out if it is the pump ?? xsadieloux:P

Just a nother question for you guys and gals following on from my previous thread : Just An Update ! I;m Not Crazy..... well the car touch wood is running ok until..... the second the petrol (any kind) hits quarter of a tank and limp mode begins and the asr and epc light come on fill it up with fuel again and its fine so any suggestions ?? its booked in with skoda again they love me lol all this money on scanning i could buy a new bloomin car at this rate !! this car is doomed i'm sure lol xsadieloux:P

hi thanx for that it was serviced in july i didnt own it then so dont know if the filters were donr will give the skoda dealer who serviced it a call and check xxsadielouxx :P

i have been in contact with shell throughout my problems and they have checked the fuel/tanks etc on the dates i brought the fuel and have had no other complaints or saw that there was anyting wrong with the fuel xsadieloux:P
