  1. I had an OTA update at the weekend, I did factory reset for good measure and hoped it was all cured... The hope was short lived, two days after seems worse than ever, constant button pressing and turning off and on. Happened at the worse time when was relying on the sat sav on the motorway. For anyone who's had their screen replaced did that fix the issue? Torn between trying that or just getting rid of it completely
  2. Mine was fine for the past 3 month after having a firmware update. The SOS pop pop issue has gone away but roll on a bit of sun and warm weather and the Infotainment has been going crazy with turning itself off and on whilst the car is on the drive and pressing itself whilst on a journey. Driving me mad. From looking at the forum no one has successfully managed to have it 'fixed' fully. Madness to me how VW group aren't owning up to an issue.
  3. Did they do the firmware update as well? Mine went in for the same thing, had an aerial replacement plus firmware update. Bit early to jump up and down with joy yet as only had it done last week but so far so good.
  4. I got a 70 plate Octavia in April which had the dreaded SOS issue. At the threat of returning the car within 14 days the dealership (A Evans Halshaw branch) said they would pay for it to be fixed. Cut a long story short, took it a Johnsons Skoda dealership who fitted a new aerial and updated the firmware. So far so good (albeit it's only been less than a week). TP details attached, hopefully it will help someone else to get theirs sorted.
  5. Mine went crazy this afternoon, it was restarting every two seconds and kept making the 'button being pressed noise' . May be coincidence but Ive recently purchased a dash cam and had that plugged in the usb c near the mirror with my mobile connected via Bluetooth. It was quite sunny today. Unplugged the dash cam and gave the screen a good wipe. It didn't happen when I used the car again and hour later
  6. I had some kinda of naive notion that it kept turning on to download the OTA update for 1969.
  7. Thanks for that. I'll try the proximity sensor and gesture recognition setting along with private mode. It's already on version 1941. I had a Skoda a few years back, never had a single issue with it, missed having it which is why went back to having one. Not been as enjoyable thus far.
  8. Hello there, I recently purchased a used 2020 Octavia 1.5 TSI SE. I've had it for about a month. Quite early on it had the dreaded SOS problems which has been in for diagnostics but still not fixed (it requires a firmware update and a new aerial which is on back order). Today it has developed a new problem. My phone has been popping up all day telling me android auto is now connected, assumed it wasy phone. Low and behold I look out my window outside and can see my infotainment screen is on. It will turn off then come back on. I've held the button down to reset it that seemed to have fixed it for a couple of hours and then it has suddenly started doing it again. Has this happened to anyone else? I am wondering how long it will be before the battery will go.
