  1. Glad I am not the only one! It works on some decoders but not others. So my new plan is to replace all three mounts on the gearbox and hope that if all three are new then there shouldn't be excess force going through any single one. A bit expensive and hard work but I can't understand why else both the Vika and the JP Group manufactured 6U0 199 427 part would fail so quickly. So I am now going to buy all of these and fit and see if it solves it. 1) 6U0 199 427 2) 6U0 199 331 3) 6U0 199 555 A The 6U0 199 331 does look particularly suspect so maybe that is causing the 6U0 199 427 to fail:
  2. Hello all, Thanks for the advice so far. I am still trying to figure this out and have been going through parts diagrams today. Further complicated by the VIN not being recognised, even when I used the converter in this post. So the parts diagram suggest that if you have a 2000 1.6 then you need 6U0 199 427, rather than 6U0 199 427A which is for the 1.3 However, I purchased and fitted the 6U0 199 427 here and it still broke within a month. So either it is incorrectly labelled or poor quality or perhaps there is another problem. I am now considering buying just the bush as this is what breaks. That would be part 6U7 199 849. There is only one supplier in Italy selling this and it is quite expensive. Could there be something else that is causing the mount to fail? I don't want to spend lots of money on the bush and then break that one. For example, could there be a problem with 6U0 199 331 here that is causing the other mount to fail?
  3. Hello both, Thanks for the comments. Really interesting to hear that you can still find original parts there as well. Following @Thefeliciahacker advice above, I looked at MAPCO ones. When you buy a Vika one or JP Group one, they come with the steel mounting plate like this: The MAPCO ones look like they are just the circular units that you have the press into the steel mounting plate: Interesting the supplier of the MAPCO one has said that they do not think this is the correct part of a MK2 Felicia (2000) 1.6. Any thoughts on that? Is it because I am buying the wrong part that they are failing?
  4. Hello everyone, Got a problem that I cannot figure out here and was wondering if anyone else has solved it. I replaced the gearbox mount with a JP Group replacement. This lasted about a month and then failed (see image below). I then replaced it with a Vika one. This failed within about an hour. Is there something else I am missing that puts too much pressure on these and causes them to fail?
  5. I am going to have to find a new bulb and get it working now! It may not have remote central locking but it does have a little bulb to help you find the keyhole 😆
  6. Ah that is so useful. I was very confused as to how that key could operate for remote central locking. On the one hand, it has a button you can press and the previous owner mentioned remote central locking, but when I opened it up, I couldn't see a circuit board! What is the purpose of the bulb? I will check for the alarm and sensors tonight but I suspect that it just never had remote central locking. Thank you for the advice on cleaning up the locks. It is the front passenger side. Can the motor movement be improved with a clean and lube or is it usually replacement required?
  7. Hello all, Since I bought my Felicia (2000, 1.6) I have managed to sort out thermostat and engine mount issues (thanks to everyone for the advice). When I bought it, I was told that the remote central locking didn't work but the central locking did work with the key which was true. One of the locks is a bit sticky and doesn't always go so I am going to take the door card off this week and give it a clean and some lube. I was wondering if there is a simple troubleshoot for attempting to figure out why the central locking doesn't work. I have one of these keys and I replaced the battery to see if that was an easy fix but no joy. The bulb doesn't light up. Can anyone give me some steps to try whilst I am working on the car this weekend? Thank you, Nick

  9. Hello all, Another seemingly standard Felicia problem, I've got excessive movement on the gearbox/engine mounts. Two questions: - Can anyone confirm part numbers for the parts than need replacing on rear, left and right mounts? I find the catalogue quite confusing for this one. - Any words of advice? I have read some of the old posts on this topic, sounds possible but painful to do without removing gearbox.

  11. Thanks all. I think I will go for Option A above and hope for the best. I have read that you need to be very careful taking the old one off and putting new one in as you are obviously working with plastic threads etc. I will let you know how it goes. For future reference, for anyone attempting the same thing, Skoda have confirmed that these parts are no longer available through them but part numbers for 2000 1.6l Felicia are: 6U0919501B temperature sensor 032121110B thermostat 032121121J coolant housing (section of the unit that supports the stat, Option A above) 032121111N coolant housing (whole unit, Option B above) I will let you know how I get on and try get some photos.

Is the general problem with the thermostat housing with the small plastic part in Option A below or is it usually necessary to replace the whole larger housing unit (Option B)?   13. Ah, ευχαριστώ I didn't know it was possible to buy the thermostat and the housing together so that is helpful advice, I will see if I can find any UK suppliers who can do that. I presume the ring you refer to is the 0-ring for the fitting? Do the colours mean different sizes and do both usually come with the housing? I will definitely be changing the coolant, and probably do a few hoses and clips whilst I am there.
  14. Hello all, Just purchased my first Felicia and have noticed the classic, engine not heating up properly whilst driving issue described elsewhere several times on here. Simple couple of questions: 1) Has anyone bought a housing and stat recently and if so, any recommendation on supplier? 2) Has anyone got any particularly good guides/ photos/ videos that they recommend watching in advance?
