My Superb is lightly modded, but all mods declared. Insurance is cheaper than going thru mainstream insurers and not declaring mods. My previous modded car is a Mk2 MR2 turbo with practically everything upgraded or modded, 350bhp, insurance wasn't particularly expensive on that. My age and a somehow clean licence helps probably.

Has anyone looked at NVH dampeners from the BMW range? I read that some are optional on some models when they get larger wheels - e.g. X5 with 21"+ wheels has an option for dampeners to reduce road noise

I was asking for whoever can answer lol. Bare with me on this🙃 The wife's 2016 Octavia 1.2 petrol on 16" wheels is far far quieter than my 280 4x4. The thread on the forum here for sound deadening is quite comprehensive - wheel arch liners, wheel arches, bonnet, all under cabin floor, doors, door cards, B pillars. But apart from the B pillars, all the rest is what you would do on any other car. There's no NVH dampeners available for 4wd Superb, just the one part available for 2wd cars for the rear subframe. In fact, I cannot find any NVH dampeners used on any of the MQB platform. So how can the Passat and Arteon be a more premium model if they have tyre noise like the Superb? They may have more sound deadening than other models, but it wont be to the extent of the amateur modder will do. From what I can see, the Arteon only comes with the alloy front subframe, no steel option I can see for sale. I would like to think this is the difference for a quieter vehicle. @MartiniB thought you may interested in this thread.

So how many complaints of excessive road noise can you find about Passat B8 or Arteon? Is the all alloy fronted the difference? I have combed thru the difference between the models on the mqb platform which can cause noise issues, this is the only difference that isn't discussed. Is there any acoustic variants for the Arteon and Passat?

Did you look at the Passat parts for an alloy LCA? Possibly part code 3C0 407 151 ??

I'm on a lot of skoda superb forums on fb and have never seen about this subframe swap, much less about issues afterwards. Can you drop some links on here please?

The point I'm thinking of with that subframe change on the Mk2 is that the std one is hollow steel, just like the mk3 one. Is that resonating tyre noise into the whole of the car?

I've only just found out that the frame fits lol Got links to where people are complaining about them knocking plz?

Hi, Skoda Superb Mk3 280 4x4 I know that on the Golf R, the front subframe can be replaced from the steel one to an alloy one. I seem to remember someone telling me that the Golf one won't fit the Superb. I see there is an alloy version of the subframe for the Passat R and Arteon R Are these the same as the Golf ones, so no alloy one from another model will fit the Superb? Thanks,

Yeah, read further back up in this thread. Some noise is coming along the chassis then up the B pillar to hear right by your ear

Has anyone on here needed to do sound deadening on a L & K?

Tried some high density foam in the bottom of the B pillar?

@AMDFX Had your tracking checked recently? I notice more noise from just minor incorrect tracking.

Hi, I've done quite a bit of sound deadening on my Superb, and have gone through the really useful tips on this thread. I used a precut kit from https://www.nkgroup.co.uk/ (no affiliation) which allowed me to install footwells and sides of the transmission tunnel by simply removing the plastic sill covers on each side of the car. Has anyone tried the chassis dampers from other manufacturers? Also, does anyone know the part codes for the acoustic side window glass? Images of my work attached
