  1. Good suggestion. Will do. Thanks again.
  2. Looks like some work needed on the various platforms to find working salvage. Thank you both Paws4Thot and Breezy_Pete!
  3. We have a lovely 2004 Fabia, reminds me of my very early MKI Golf in some ways. The electrics are starting to play up. First thought was to get another car and sell this on, but our budget (5k) does not really open up any real options that give us anything better. We are the second owners and its only just over 40k on the clock. Despite being tired inside we are being steered towards having the electrics done and keeping it on the road and for use by ourselves. Issues are Passenger window electrics intermittent and now does not pull down or up Passenger window randomly winds down, since has stopped. Centre console between rev/speedo not working Have noticed the car unlocking then immediately locking again while standing on the drive Another issue as we are looking at it, is one of the rear window winder does not work downwards, so you wind it down, then use your hand to push window down. But overall, the car is sound, solid, never had engine issues. Does anyone know what we might be looking at to have electrics considered? Cheers,,,,,Q
  4. Sorry, ive prob confused things. So looking to buy the car listed in the topic - listed as 1.9, on a 58 plate, 70k on the clock Its what I need to look for on a car like this. Should I be seeking Cam Belt and Water Pump? What more info is useful/can I give? Cheers, Q
  5. Thanks, So its due an oil/filter soon, i'll see what that costs. Do you know, or have details of the recall, or where I can look/check on this? Belt and pump different, does this mean they do not need replacing/looking at, at similar mileage? Its sold, im not selling, I had a Octavia VRS Petrol 2.0ltr with 19" alloys, loved it. 14 plate, ex demo, so was loaded.
  6. Hi, Seen one of these, it is above my budget as a temp run around, but the car is very clean, MOT history is almost perfect, with the Fails listing usual things, that have been rectified. Its just over 70k in miles (3.5k priced at). A few owners (I'm usually dubious about more than two, but the age and other adverts do tend to show numbers going up often). When selling my car, around similar mileage, the buyers asked about Water Pump and Timing Belt. These items are not listed as being recently done. So I was going to ask. Ive never had a diesel Auto, only petrol (DSG), is there anything I should be looking at, asking about. I see this car has a very long life left in it. Cheers, Q
  7. PM'd on the off chance this might still be up for sale.

  9. Thats super and as per replies above, there does seem to be a higher spec as standard on a Sportsline I'll trawl through and see if there is anything else, but I think its going to have all been covered.
  10. Thanks, Certainly lists some of those in the 'come as standard' but the optional extra's are short, two bar not listed, or sun roof (dont have a sun roof). Good place to start though, appreciate the link.
  11. Well, Unfortunately my car was written off. It was a Sports Line, 2.0ltr Diesel. Manual. The first valuation I pushed back on. They have since gone away to check the spec, as I thought I had some extra's. I have tried to do a google search, and even the sports line I find on AutoTrader differ. Recently I have been told the following are standard spec for a sport line Superb, Keyless Entry Heated and folding door mirrors Upgraded stereo system Black magic peal effect Xenon headlights I am being told, only the tow-bar is an extra. They are really pushing back, but before I accept, if anyone knows and can help with those listed, that would be brilliant. Cheers,,,,,Q
  12. Hello, Thought I was a member, but clearly not. Had the lovely VRS and now in a rather more leisurely superb. Hope to be able to help at some point as well as gain some good knowledge. Cheers,,,,,Q
