SKODA Octavia 1.9 TDI DSG - What too look for

Featured Replies

Hi,

Seen one of these, it is above my budget as a temp run around, but the car is very clean, MOT history is almost perfect, with the Fails listing usual things, that have been rectified.

Its just over 70k in miles (3.5k priced at). A few owners (I'm usually dubious about more than two, but the age and other adverts do tend to show numbers going up often).

When selling my car, around similar mileage, the buyers asked about Water Pump and Timing Belt. These items are not listed as being recently done. So I was going to ask.
Ive never had a diesel Auto, only petrol (DSG), is there anything I should be looking at, asking about. I see this car has a very long life left in it.

Cheers,
Q

 2.0 TDI.

They have different DSG,s, DQ250 probably.  OIl & Filter service @ 40,000 miles intervals,

**with a 1.6 TDI. (There were recalls, and an Oil change with 2009-2012 ones.)**

As to Cam belt and Water pumps with a TDI, that is different with a TSI.

?

So what Engine / DSG has your Superb got that you are selling?   & miles & age?

Thanks,

So its due an oil/filter soon, i'll see what that costs.
Do you know, or have details of the recall, or where I can look/check on this?

Belt and pump different, does this mean they do not need replacing/looking at, at similar mileage?

Its sold, im not selling, I had a Octavia VRS Petrol 2.0ltr with 19" alloys, loved it. 14 plate, ex demo, so was loaded.

I know all the details of the Recall, but that was 2014 on 2009-2012 DQ200 DSG,s so not relevant.

I see now that to the left you have are showing a 2016 car, that is not visible when on a phone.

So tell us about the 1.9 TDI DSG.       Is it a 2.0TDI DSG, and how old?

Newer cars have a DQ381 DSG with a 80,000 mile service interval.

Cam Belt and Water Pump advice has changed since last July, but then that might have come after the Cam Belt and Water pump might have already been changed on the car you are looking at.

Sorry, ive prob confused things.

So looking to buy the car listed in the topic - listed as 1.9, on a 58 plate, 70k on the clock

Its what I need to look for on a car like this.
Should I be seeking Cam Belt and Water Pump?

What more info is useful/can I give?

Cheers, Q

Those that know about those particular cars / engines will be along hopefully with advice from their experiences and knowledge.
